2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. PostSubject: Greeting from Rhode Island   Greeting from Rhode Island EmptyTue Jul 31, 2012 9:59 am

Hello ladies and Gentlemen,

For the past year or so my girlfriend and I been waiting a puppy. Just recently we been doing lots studying and asking questions here and there about the breed. We know it's the breed that we want. We also know it will take time to train and turn it into a routine.

For the past week where weren't sure on which Gender to pick, My girlfriend wanted a female and I wanted a male. We settle with a female, when we went to visit the breeder the puppy also wanted us! Her name is Luna just in case you didn't you know by now^_^

She will be available to take home on the 19th, that's why we come to you once again, because we have questions that we hope you can answer for us. We asked the breeder as well, but if it's one thing i learned in business class is that seller will you ANYTHING you want to hear. Please feel free to add additional things you feel we must know as well.

1) How long after Luna arrive home should we take it to see a vet? What kind of vaccine we should ask for first?
2) At what age should she be spray?
3) The dog is already being feed raw, should I continue it?
4) What are food(s) to AVOID feeding husky?
5) If you can estimate, how costly will it be annually to take care of husky? ( I budget everything)
6) What age should we take her out running in the park?
7)What is the best tool to use when she start shedding?
Cool Should be buy a health insurance(health care) or pay out of the pocket?
9)What is the Maximum time puppy/adult can stay in crate
10) Can 2-4mile a day be enough for her or should we increase it?
11)What are some good toys to buy?
12) When they teething what toy(s)would you recommend
13) What age do they shed?
14) WILL YOU BE HERE TO HELP US STEP BY STEP I love you ?

) How long after Luna arrive home should we take it to see a vet? What kind of vaccine we should ask for first? Take her as soon as you can, your vet will know what shots she will need. Bring any vaccination record your breeder gives you and a fresh stool sample!

2) At what age should she be spray? Everyone has their own idea, I like around 5-6 months, but your vet will tell you.

3) The dog is already being feed raw, should I continue it? That is up to you! People on here can certainly help you if you decide to feed raw, otherwise stick to a high quality kibble

4) What are food(s) to AVOID feeding husky? cheap grain ridden food

5) If you can estimate, how costly will it be annually to take care of husky? ( I budget everything) That is going to depend on a lot of things. I believe if you google that it will take you to sites that have that all figured out. It seems expensive at first because of all the puppy shots.

6) What age should we take her out running in the park? Ask your vet, but probably not full on running for a year.

7)What is the best tool to use when she start shedding? A shedding rake or a furminator

Cool Should be buy a health insurance(health care) or pay out of the pocket? I have VPI for both my dogs, I recommend health insurance for all dogs, it just makes sense.

9)What is the Maximum time puppy/adult can stay in crate Well they can't "hold it" very long when so little. They are supposed to have bladder control at 16 weeks some are a bit later.

10) Can 2-4mile a day be enough for her or should we increase it? That will be too much for a young puppy.

11)What are some good toys to buy? kongs are great

12) When they teething what toy(s)would you recommend? nylabones can be good, some use marrow bones and antlers

13) What age do they shed? Hmm Balon is 5 months and has shed a little already.

14) WILL YOU BE HERE TO HELP US STEP BY STEP I love you ?there are some mighty mighty smart husky people on here and yep they will!

Luna is awesome!
