| Hello all. I am a 1st time Puppy Mom! My Husband and I got our beautiful Red Husky, Sasha, about 3-weeks ago when she was 8-weeks old.
She was a SUCH a good girl on the 3-hour ride home. She laid in the back of the car and played with me for a little while, but she slept for most of the ride.
She adjusted well to the house pretty much immediately. She did have a hard time sleeping the first two nights. She was up much of the night howling and crying (which we expected). By the third night, she was sleeping through the night and seemed to have adjusted much faster than we had anticipated! She is still sleeping through the night. She usually gets up around 8:30, which is great ! I was expecting to be up with her much earlier!
She is doing incredibly well with potty training !! We are giving her hot dogs as treats. She LOVES them! She has plenty of toys, but of course, being a puppy she enjoys chewing on Mommy and Daddy much more ! haha. We are getting a little frustrated with the biting/nipping. I've been sticking a toy in her mouth instead of my hand, foot, ear, shirt, etc.. haha. I've also tried the "ouch" and walking away from her for a short time. Neither of those seem to be too effective as of yet, but we are working at it every day !! I will definitely be searching out more tips in the forums !
Her first Vet visit went very well. She was a PERFECT ANGEL !! She sat on my lap very relaxed for the 30mins we were in the waiting room. When we went in to see the Dr. she sat on the table and let the Tech and the Dr. look, feel, prod, clip, etc .. without a problem at all !! She even sat like an angel when he gave her a shot !! Not even a little wimper ! We were SO proud of her !!!
We are crate training her, and she is doing well with that also - although while I am working (I work from home) she does prefer to sleep under my chair, which of course I don't mind at all !
She inhales it her food in about 2 minutes, and of course then, gives herself the hiccups ! I am trying to teach her to slow down a little !! I take the bowl away from her a few times. I also read this will prevent food aggression. I baked her homemade peanut butter biscuits YUM.. and we give her frozen carrots to snack on and help with her teething.
She is growing very fast ! Which I am sad about and excited about all at the same time !! Sometimes I feel like she may need a "buddy", hey you never know !!
Thanks for listening !! I am very excited to meet other people that I can reach out to for help ! This has been an amazing resource for information for me so far and thanks to ALL for posting such helpful information !!! |

| Very cute And don't worry.. the nipping will stop. As long as you continue to correct her it will get better. Snow use to do it terrible, especially with our kids but I've noticed recently that she doesn't do it. It's like it just stopped suddenly. Good luck with her |

| I've been to Syracuse quite a few times. Both my Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law went to school there. It was worth the trip just to go to Dinosaur BBQ ! My mouth is watering just thinking about it !! |

| Such a cutie. Welcome. I'm new here as well and my boy is just 12 weeks. The biting is the most difficult part. He loves to nip the kids and my hubby. We are also trying to redirect him with toys. Let me know if you find anything that works better. |
