| so a person was asking about food on our H2M2 FB page and i mentioned grain free foods and the 3 that we use. this lady replied to my comment with this. " Most of us use www.dogfoodadvisor.com or www.dogfoodanalysis.com for researching kibble options. But you also need figure out what YOUR dog needs, and feed it that way, and not get sucked into the trends of the moment. I know there's a huge market-driven press to go grain free, but that's like putting your dog on Jenny Craig when you look at the Kcal numbers. Great for overweight dogs, not so great if your husky has a high metabolism and isn't getting enough Kcals to meet daily energy requirements. I've never fed raw or BARF, so I can't comment on that." i had to write back and let her know how crazy that statement was _________________ |

| For real? This lady is crazy. I don't know about you guys, but any food I have fed has always been high protein and mid fat content. The Kcals seem to be more than the grain inclusive options.
But, that's just what I have noticed. |

| grain, "by products" etc are all just CRAPPY, CHEAP fillers that makes it convenient and profitable for petfood companies without necessarily giving the food the nutrients it needs to provide for the dog. we feed abady raw and have amazing results as far as fur, shedding, poops and overall health. works wonders on our husky & rott. used to be feel blue buffalo at 70+ dollars a bag that lasted me a week tops with these two and abady is expensive as well but they only eat twice a day and stay satisfied and happy. that woman is a nutcase it's not about Kcals/quantity but about quality. if it was quality food people wouldn't need to feed cups and cups and cups of kibble. I think of it as filling an empty space as cheaply, as possible. that's what ignorant pet owners/petfood companies do. fill their tummies as easily as possibly even if its all garbage. just my two cents |
