Hi, I'm looking for some advice about tick repellant. I have a 13 yr old male husky named Saber. I have been thinking about taking him to a local forest preserve and walking him there for a change of pace (it gets a little boring walking around the same neighborhood). My only concern is he has an extremely low white blood cell count and I'm afraid he'll pick up a tick.
He has not been on any tick repellant for years. I have read on here that some people use rose geranium oil and I was wondering if that would be enough to protect him with his low white blood count? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Yes, the rose geranium SHOULD be enough. Does he wear a harness when you take him hiking? If so, I would put some oil on both his collar and harness for added protection. There is no 100% guarantee but I've yet to see a single tick on any of my dogs since I've been using Rose Geranium oil for the past 2 years, prior to using the oil they got ticks more than I care to remember.

Yes, he will be wearing a harness. Thank you for your reply!
