| Yesterday my mom calls me freaking out telling me 7 year old Dalmatian Sophie threw up like three times and one pile had an entire thong in it! I of course knew that's why she was getting sick, but thought she would feel better now that she got it up, but she threw up again afer that. All the piles have been a good size and all consisted of chewed up mushy food (sorry for being graphic). She acted completely normal last night with solid poop, eating normal meal, drinking fine, and playful. I got up at 4:20am to take Nicky potty and I found that Sophie threw up again! Again, it consisted of mushy dog food. Stupid me I should have started her on a bland diet last night, but I didn't think of it and fed her a normal portion-sized dinner.
I know some of you have mentioned your dogs eating things and throwing them up later, but did they continue throwing them up afterwards?
Update: 5:02am - she just threw up again another big pile of food followed by reverse sneezing.
5:27am- she is acting normal again, wagging her tail and trying to drink tons of water (she's always been a heavy water drinker, so that doesn't surprise me)! I know she's probably getting dehydrated from all the vomiting (dry nose), but I feel letting her drink too much will make her sick again?
*starting her on small portions of bland diet this morning* |

| If she's been throwing up for more than 24 hours, I would take her to the vet. Vomit is normal when they ate something they shouldn't, but after it passes, it should go away. The fact that she's pooping is a good sign, but vomit for more than a day is concerning. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| She ate her bland diet fine this morning, but just threw the majority of it up. She threw up the first time at about 2pm yesterday, so it's just a bit under 24 hours.
If there is still something in there like maybe another pair of panties would they show up on x-ray?
edit: She has an apt. at 11:30am. My only concern is that if she for some reason does need surgery, that Sophie does have a very slight heart murmur. Not sure if that would be a problem, but it is a scary thought. |

| Kelly how did the appt go? You may remember I just dealt with this with Balon and the shipping bag lol. An xray should show if there was anything else in her tummy or intestines.
I hope everything err came out ok, please let us know how she is? |

| I took her to the vet at 11:30 and they took two x-rays, which came out clear (thankfully). He said that she was dehydrated, so he gave her some fluids and a shot to help her with the vomiting. The vet said she was probably getting sick so much just from the panties being in her system and she's starting to adjust.
She's on a small portion bland diet for the next few days and keeping my fingers crossed she hold's everything down tonight! If no, we're back at the vet's tomorrow.
Praying for the best! |
