| Just worrying a little bit. It has only happened a couple times but Shadow has thrown up after drinking water, he is 9 weeks. He will come in after going potty and sit there and drink for a minute or two. Then I will put himin his enclosed play area and he will throw up a little. Sometimes it will have some of his kibble in it, but only a little and he will just eat it and be fine. Is it the amount of water he is consuming? Again, it only happens when he drinks. I have a big dog pet fountain which holds a lot of water. Maybe try switching to a smaller water bowl till he is bigger?? Thanks guys |

| It sounds like he might be drinking too much water too fast. Like you mentioned, try using a smaller bowl and see if that helps. |

| Teek does this from time to time when she gets excited or feels she needs to drink fast so she can go back to play. It normally is not vomit, but she will at least gag and hack up a nice cough. They tend to feel they are in need of more water then they actually do, and or drink way too fast. limiting the amount of water should help with this a great deal. There is nothing wrong with giving the same amount of water spaced out over 2 sittings or more and they will be far less likely bring it back up. You may also want to try and have your pup relax a tiny bit after the drink. Restricting play for just a couple of minutes can go a long way in keeping it down. Try mental stimulation by teaching tricks or commands. It is just as tiring as play without all the moving around. I think we all know how uncomfortable it can feel when you try and run after a LARGE amount of water . Best of luck ~Chris~ |

| Drinking to much to quickly as many have suggested, Thane used to do it a lot. Just give out water little by little cause pups seem to drink fast and much more than is needed. |

| Kale does this too when he drinks too much too fast, or if he's panting and swollows down the wrong tube. He does it more after coming inside from a hard play sesh. He spits up a little puddle of spit water and mosies on his way. |

| Khuno did this once when he drank too fast... except then he decided to do a puppy run and proceeded to PROJECTILE vomit all over my bed room with wall to wall carpeting. I laugh at it now.. in fact i laugh at it quite a bit now, but at the time it wasn't funny haha.
I actually made a picture of him doing it somewhere... i'll have to dig that up and post it here. |

| Parvo is also an airborn virus, so its possible for him to catch it anywhere. Having him run around in a grassy contained area, good nutrition, and keeping up with vaccs are ideal. Having them cooped up and not allowing them to be exposed to anything (humans as well) can result in weakened immune systems. Thats why people who contsantly use puriel and disinfect everything are often sick and people who live out in the elements are healthy oxes lol yes, over-exposure is a no-no, but 10 mins in a controled area to play and potty is fine in my opinion. |
