What are your pet peeves for other dog owners? It doesn't have to just be husky or malamute owners, could be any dog. Walks or dog parks or vet office visits.

Mine has to be people who let their dog smell every bush for 5 mins, walk slow and take up the whole sidewalk so we can't get around. I experienced it 2 times today!

Manners is a big one. If out at places and giving treats, its nice to have them sit and wait their turn. I don't run into too many dog owners where I am so nothing yet. Wait till the move and I'll have stuff to add to this I bet

My list is to long....

the biggest is letting dogs have free roam of your front yard, they NEVER stay there!
people who have not so nice dogs and take their dog to the dog park
owners who let their dogs get so heavy they look like sausages
unleashed dogs (like the one in home depot this weekend)
not picking up there poo so i have to look at it all over the neighborhood
and plenty of other ones not on the top of my head

Barking 24/7
People who claim to walk their dog but in reality end up being walked by their dog
Bad Manners
Owners letting their dogs leave presents all over the dog park XD

Nonstop barking and not picking up poop.
Unleashed dogs would be a top one, but we almost never encounter this.

We have a Great Dane across from us, that lives tied up in the open garage where it bays, not barks, 24/7. They also don't pick up the poop in our complex's small communal yard. Great Dane poop ain't small!

Wow... this is a can of worms!! (I'm going to try to be nice and not get expelled from this forum!!)

1) Loose dogs
2) Owners of those loose dogs who think you are a bad owner for NOT having your dog loose
3) Intact dogs who need to be fixed
4) Owners of those intact dogs who think that you are wrong for fixing your dog
5) Owners of those intact females who end up with "the cutest litter of mutts ever"
6) Dogs who are not well-cared for
7) Owners of those uncared for dogs who think you are insane for spending ANY money on your dog...even if that money saves his life
8 ) Owners who do not see pets as a long-time commitment and say, "I had a (fill in the breed of dog) for a few years until..."
9) Tiny, yippy, snarling dogs
10) Owners of tiny, yippy, snarling dogs who think it's funny when their dog shows aggression
11) Owners of tiny, purse-sized dogs who ARE in purses at a grocery store (I don't like dogs around food)

That's all I can think of now, but I know there are more...

Lisa, you hit on some of my others i could not think of at the time!

I'm with Lisa on all of those, plus the unleashed dogs, plus the unleashed dogs in front yards that don't stay there!!! And the small yippy dogs that snarl at our dogs and then get upset if my dogs bark back ("OMG, Fluffy, that dog is going to eat you! It's vicious!").

Owners not picking up after their dogs, owners letting their dogs off lead when those dogs are not under voice control, and owners allowing their dogs to bark excessively in a residential area. Beyond that, as long as they don't interfere with me then I don't care.

I hate it when dog owners have an aggressive dog and tell me "oh it's ok they are just playing. They'll work it out". Hello my dog is crying and hiding between my legs while your's is trying to eat his face!

When owners of small dogs come into a park filled with big dogs and expect all the dogs not to come near the little dog as if its in it's own little bubble.

When the small dogs owner gets upset when my dog tries to play with their small dog, because they think he looks mean (apparently he's a wolf).

When another dog is trying to hump my dog non-stop and the owner does nothing.

When it's hot outside and there's a kiddy pool at the park for the dogs to play in and one owner wants to dump it out because their dog just had a bath and doesn't want their dog getting dirty. Umm isn't a dog park dirty already?

Owners that leave their dogs outside all the time and all they do is bark.. Can't the owners hear them we can. We have several in the neighborhood who's dogs outside barking all the time.

Not picking up after the dog. I have been thinking about putting a pole in my front yard with extra bags and a note telling them to clean up after their dogs.

Men who will not get their male dogs neutered they seem to take it personal (not offense to the males on here ).

owners that get over protective of the dogs at the dog park don't want them to play so why bring them ??

Oh my list could go on forever, but a few major ones in addition to all the ones Lisa mentioned include...

- people who won't take their dog to the vet even though it really needs to be seen.
-people that think its cool to have an aggressive dog.
- people that refuse to exercise their dogs because their too busy.

People that do awesome things with their dogs and out of a group of folks can't manage to get a picture of it.

My biggest pet peeve is probably people who refuse to take responsibility for their dog's lousy behavior, and then claim "it's a dog, it's what they do!".

People that do nothing about their dogs when they're aggressively picking on yours!

people who leave their dogs outside 24/7 knowing darn well they are barking and pay NO attention to their dog at all. I'm always in my backyard and never hear the people behind us playing with their two dogs, never see them being walked or any interaction at all. just 2 dogs bored and lonely that consistently bark.

oh, and the droppings I find in my front yard every day (with the exception of the little old lady who has back problems, those I pick up without complaining)

Oh, I could go for days! The people I see at work everyday make my soul hurt.

I hate people who just let things (like injuries, sickness, etc) go. On Friday, a lady called in and told me that he dog had fallen off of a table and very obviously broke its leg on Monday or Tuesday. Her exact words were "I waited a few days to see if it would fix itself, but it doesn't look like its going to so I guess I have to bring her in." Gahhh!! This was right after a phone call where someone's cat had gotten its tail caught in an industrial-sized fan a week and a half ago and, that morning, the cat's tail had fallen off. And she was "concerned" about it. I wish I could reach through the phone and strangle people sometimes.

I also hate when people don't use a flexi lead right. If you have your dog on a flexi, that means that you need to pay attention to the dog. I don't know how many times a little yippy thing has almost gotten eaten by a big dog in our lobby because the owner was watching tv and not paying attention while Fluffy ran over to be aggressive to a dog 10 times its size. And then the owner laughs about it like its cute

And then there's people who leave their dogs running loose or chained up all the time. It breaks my heart to see dogs like that and you know that their owners don't care about them at all.

This is a big reason why we don't like going to a dog park unless we know that the small dog owners are responsible and are easy about bigger dogs playing with their small dog. I'm really liking my dog park near me - it's never crowded, and all the dog owners we have met so far seem really nice. And the owners of small dogs don't get upset when Storm chases them down to play!

JD had his pants torn by a GSD at this dog park one day and the owner sent him a new pair of pants! It wasn't cheap pants either!

...another thing to add on topic....can someone PLEASE explain how the heck (I wanted to use another word instead) can ANYONE leave their dog's poop right next to a dogpot (a post of doggy poop bags and waste can)?!?!?

i dont think there has been a thing listed that is not also on my way long list of things that piss me off. i hope we are all taking notes in case its something we do.....
