So, this is a LONG story, and I'm not the original poster, but I'm trying to help, so here it is:
Ok...in a nutshell....we've been working like dogs for a Husky in a cesspool shelter in rural West Virginia. Dog may have mouthed a kid who was beating Husky(proof that he was being the husky)....dog deemed aggressive. Video shows him looking scared to death, licking fingers. We got a rescue in there to try and evaluate....Thing 1 in charge of shelter won't let her open cage. Fast forward a few days...we got an attorney to represent to animals there, but to get an injunction stopping killing, we need a local volunteer to sign on behalf of the animals. no one will step up....we are beyond frustrated...have called attorneys, media, even a congressman who drafted a bill improving animal conditions in WV.
That is from a friend of mine who does rescue work. We have had some one offer to pull him (but rescue is not in WV) and even have some one who will foster if we can get him pulled.
In video, female husky above him was PTS, just because they were filing a suit to save male husky. (from what I understand, she had owners, and that's an entirely different issue)
I'm PLEADING to the forum, to see if we have ANY WV citizens who would be willing to help and step up for these animals, particularly the husky.
The video shows how nasty the shelter is. Dogs are stacked ontop of each other. They don't get let out, they have "feces pans" like rodents under their cages. it's horrible.
If anyone would be willing to help, please call me, email me, etc, and I will put you in contact of people. (Was asked not to post contact info, as they have been getting nasty communications)

cross post if you can. We have transport, foster (basically) and rescue to pull, but we HAVE to have the West Virginia Citizen to put it all in motion. Network all you can. Maybe we can find someone before it's too late.
I don't normally get invested like this, but the condition of those kennels alone is enough to use my resources (rescue connects to promote and crosspost, mainly)

I'm trying to open the fb link but its not wanting to work on my tablet. Do you just need a wv citizen to "adopt" him from the shelter and pass him to the rescue?

Just got the page to load I messaged the original poster about him and am waiting for a reply. If there's someone to foster him that I can get him to, I want to try and pull him from the shelter. I'm from right around that area and its terrible, not surprising at all that some moron kid would provoke an animal...

Well there are some willing to foster him as long as we can get him out. When we get him out, then arrangements can be made to transport the guy to a better place.

I can't get him out they need someone from Logan to sign a petition to save him and I'm not actually from Logan - I'm from the next town. He's breaking my heart.

I know! I was thinking it'd be something like they just needed a local person to adopt from that shelter, but they're just making it so hard to save him.
