Megan (MHeath) is on her way to the emergency vet right now with her girl Delilah and she asked me to ask you all for some prayers for Delilah (since she is driving and cannot make a post right now)! - she apparently got a hold of some petzlife spray and is now very lethargic and vomiting.

Please keep Delilah in your thoughts and prayers !

She has been admitted and they are running a tox screen. I'm waiting for an analysis. I just want to hold her, I'm pretty miserable.

Omg!! i can't imagine what you're going through right now Megan! Keeping your family in my thoughts.

Still no call with the results, but here is a picture of what her muzzle looked like when I left:



It's swollen and pink, thats the best I could get. She was itching like crazy. The doctor thinks it was an allergic reaction, a severe one. this happened right after we came inside, but I never saw her get anything.

So far, these are the symptoms:

-Vomiting
-VERY pale gums
-Extreme Lethargy, she wouldn't even walk.
-Swollen, Red Muzzle.
-Itching

I knew something was extremely wrong when she let me clip her nails.

Hope she's okay!

Oh no Megan! Praying for Delilah.

Delilah is on her way home, my fiance is going to pick her up right now. They determined that she was in anaphylactic(sp) shock. After assessing her stomach contents, they couldn't find a culprit that was ingested. They are assuming it was an insect bite, since she went into shock within 5 minutes of going outside for a bathroom break. The vet did tell me, that had we not brought her in sooner, she could have seized, gone into a coma and died.

Thank God I could tell right away that there was something going on.

$1003 later, I'm just hoping that our claim wont be denied by trupanion. Even if it is, at least she is okay.

So glad she's ok!!! Check your Trupanion policy, there's usually a waiting period where you can't claim yet - but most importantly she's safe!

Glad she's okay. I have Trupanion and I think the waiting period is 30 days.

Oh poor Delilah! I am so glad she's okay and on her way home. What a good job you recognized the symptoms and took her straight to the vet.

Oh thank god she's OK Megan! I've been thinking about you guys all day. That's so scary! Poor girl I seriously need to stop slacking and get their ins already!

Very glad she is ok. Luka also gets allergic reactions to insect bites and stings, its very scary!
