Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! | Is this normal? How do your dogs react? It's been about 3 hours and she is standing around barely moving in slow motion zombie mode.

| Delilah was incredibly groggy after her spay. She even peed herself, which had never happened before. Just keep an eye on her. If its no better in the morning, I would get a hold of your vet. |

| Ya the floor is wet in a couple spots and she started whimpering and shot up and started licking herself... I don't know exactly what they do when they put them under? |

| just kidding, i just saw the other post on her hip. when rocky was put under for his neuter, he was groggy at first too, it was really weird and it worried me too. but then out of nowhere he just got incredibly hyper (from sleeping all day because of the anesthetics) so i ended up staying up with him until 5 am because he just wouldn't go to sleep & he was really uncomfortable but that was due mainly because of the cone. |

| My parents dog Prince, when he got his spay he was very groggy, he was like a grumpy old man snappy and very disorientated. My mum's late dog Phoebe was a complete live wire, jumping all over the place, wanting to play and get out of the vet asap.
I think it effects them all differently and each time they have it it's different again, they may wake up in a good mood, they may not.

| Kya was a zombie dog for 3 days after being put under, as was our Pom, for about 2 days. Just like humans can get diarrhea and be lathargic, so can dogs. They don't normally recommend that the dogs eat until the day after they go under, and with both of ours, as well as the fosters, it sometimes has taken several days for them to fully eat like normal.
I would just watch her, and if it isn't better in the next day or so, take her back in. |

| Diarrhea is completely normal. It's often a side effect of the anesthesia |
