I know not all huskys are talkative, but when you have a talkative dog on your hands, or a dog that makes any sounds...
When do they normally start making these sounds?
Trillion is six months and she will occasionally make a woowoo sound but it's rather rare, she makes this REALLLLLLLYYYY high pitch yip sound more often and it's DEAFENING. splitting headache after she does it two or three times.
she has made this moaning sound when playing once..
but she's mostly quiet..

will she be a quiet husky, or do you think in time she might talk a bit more?

Also iv tried teaching her speak, just so i can teach her quiet...
and when I tell her speak, i make a sound to try to provoke her making a soup and she either just moves her mouth in a talking motion but no sound comes out (lol ) or she yips.

Im trying to teach her quiet because if i walk away from her and she can't follow me she yips

Mine is almost 6 years old and she is pretty quiet all the time. We finalllllly taught her to howl/bark when she wants to go out although most of the time we howl at her like crazy people and she does that strange silent howl. Moves her mouth like she is doing it but is either silent or just huffy. lol. I think you are going about it the right way but not all huskies are talkative.

Although, with a webcam we found out she will full out howl, nonstop when left home alone because she misses us. Go figure.

We really want to work up to her howling/barking to go outside to, cause sometimes it takes us a second to realize she's sitting by the door to go out

We taught Tika by holding a treat (letting her smell it), and saying SPEAK, and then howling at her and rewarding.... It took a long time but she got it. Now shes a pro.

Something you can try is doing the same thing.

Hold treat and let Trillion smell it
Command and hand signal for speak.
Howl
Once the head tilts play a video or a sound files of huskies playing.


I hope Mel doesn't mind too much but Kody always gets a vocal reaction out of Tika, and Tika is a quiet pup for the most part.

When I was teaching Stark to speak, I showed him a particularly yummy treat and said "Speak!"

...He looked at me like I was an idiot.

But... I kept saying speak and no matter what he did, he wasn't doing the right thing - so in frustration, he finally barked. When he barked, I said "Speak - good dog!" while giving him the treat. Now, he won't bark for the life of him unless we say speak, but once he got speak, he picked up Quiet in a heartbeat. We also do the index finger to the lips motion so he associates that with Quiet as well.

LOL - Stark does that sometimes as well - we still reward him because he goes through all the actions, but he gets the really good treats when he makes sound.

Ziva talks back...tell her NO and she barks at ya. Tell her down (trying to get on couch) and the same little yip....try hard not to laugh...lol
