| Okay bare with me, it's been a while since I housebroke a puppy but Ares peed alll over my house last night, and he's been drinking a ton of water and tonight he wouldn't eat her dinner, which he hasn't done since I got him His dog tags are missing, potentially ate them while in his kennel last night, do you think this is our problem, or potentially a UTI? |

| It may and may not be UTI.... I wanna say it started in April, but Storm has been drinking a lot of water, all at once, and then when he has to go pee, he pees it all out. After a year of adopting him, he had an accident and started to pee in the house when we leave. We tested for diabetes, UTI, checked for crystals and did blood work and nothing. So we started to leave the doggy door open when we're gone and he does not have an accident if we do that, and gave him cranberries to see if he'd go back to normal drinking habits. We didn't see a change and talked to our vet again, and was informed if it was a low grade UTI crystals wouldn't show up under the microscope, and decided to try a vitamin C supplements and last night or this morning, he peed in the kitchen.
I don't know what's going on with Storm peeing in the house, but it was kind of a sudden change. And last night/this morning was the first time he couldn't wait until we got up to open the doggy door and we did let him out to pee last night before going to bed.

| Couldn't hurt to get him tested, or at least find a cranberry supplement that should help get rid of one (Amazon has a lot). Ro had such a bad UTI and I felt so guilty blaming it on her digressing since she's a puppy since it made me wait forever to check. You know these are the signs of a UTI- excessive peeing and drinking so much (the difference between Claudia and you is he does it often as where Storm is not very often)- so I'd just go ahead and get it out of the way, test, and if he does gets the meds started so you can work on him getting potty trained without a medical condition hindering him.

| Thanks Claudia and Heather. I'm going to take in a sample this afternoon and get it tested. He was completely accident for about a week prior to this so hopefully it's just a UTI. |

| I just found out that Storm does have something medically wrong that causes him to drink excessively and then pee excessively. Sympoms are different from what you describe, but I thought I'd create a link to my thread in case anyone reads this. https://www.itsahuskything.com/t4989p20-peeing-in-the-house#84634Storm drinks a lot and then pees it all out and his urine is SO diluted, it's almost like water. So for anyone that has similar sympoms, I've post the link to my thread for additional information. _________________ |
