Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Suddenly cuddly? Empty
PostSubject: Suddenly cuddly?    Suddenly cuddly? EmptyWed May 30, 2012 8:18 am

Dante will be 11 months on the 3rd of June and the last few weeks he has gotten SUPER clingy. He's always been affectionate, but independent. Lately, however, he has been very cuddly. He follows me EVERYWHERE ( including the bathroom, a place that he hates because that's where BATHS happen) And whenever I'm still he HAS to be touching me. He ALWAYS has his head in my lap or against my side or arm, or, if I am on the couch, between my back and the couch. And if he hasn't been invited up wherever i am, he will lay with his head on my foot and for the most part he won't move until I do. Have any of your huskies done this? Is it just a stage he is going through due to his age, or has he just decided to become a lap dog (which I'm perfectly fine with lol)?

Both of ours suddenly became a lot more cuddly in the last few weeks. We were blaming it on being busy and them picking up on us being stressed, but it could have something to do with the changing weather/season maybe? I have no idea, just making guesses.

Hahaha...I was first going to suggest it's because your dog was going into heat. lol. But you have a boy! Mine got all clingy when they first went into heat. Now Siku isn't that clingy (she is spayed now) and Elara is little miss velcro dog all the time.

This might be out of line - but this can happen when a dog senses you're pregnant. In fact most animals tend to cuddle/follow/touch pregnant women more. No need to disclose here, but a possibility.

lol You aren't out of line. However there is pretty much no chance of that lol! He does it to some extent with my husband as well, although it's not nearly to the degree that it is with me. He just gets more excited when he comes home from work. I'm certainly not complaining. I love it! I just wondered if it was something I shouldn't get used to lol.
