- We filled kongs pretty much from the start with Ghost, and we got her at 10 weeks. We did a one for one mixture of canned pumpkin and plain greek yogurt, capped on the ends with a little peanut butter and then frozen. You'll enjoy the 30-45 minutes of peace
Did you have any stomach problems with the yogurt and peanut butter at 10 weeks? |

| I only used a little peanut butter on the caps, and the pumpkin and yogurt is really good for tummy problems. We did have quite a few problems early on with Ghost, but that was all grain related and once we put her on a grain free food she was fine. She's to the point now we can even give her grain inclusive treats from time to time. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | We didn't because they have grain in them, and we had so many food related problems with her at that age we didn't want to risk anything. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Sorry if I'm thread jacking, we are going to wait until he is 8 weeks to pick up Kaiser but I was wondering, I know bite inhibition is usually around week 6ish, what is it that they learn from week 7 to week 8? I just ask because I see a lot of people trying to sell their puppies at 7 weeks and I wondered what it is that they learn that they need in that extra week. |

As an aside - In some states it is illegal to sell a puppy under 8 weeks old also. Puppies learn all of their foundation skills from their mother and litter mates. Socialization, bite inhibition, discipline, manners etc (we can't teach a dog to be a dog). you'll often find that puppies that are taken from the litter too early are more prone to behavioral problems also. Many good breeders will keep their puppies until 11+ weeks. Some won't even place them until 16. Actually quite a few believe that puppies placed between 16 weeks and 12 months are better off than a puppy płaces at 8 weeks because of the different stages of development that puppies go through. (that has to do with the proper human care though) _________________ |
