Yep...he is a product of the hunger games hahaha I figured with the baby blue eyes and his love for water it fit perfect We've had four fights today since dinner time. I'm about to pull my hair out...but just have to remember he has no manners and wasn't taught anything. He has a food aggression...and it's with everyone, dogs and humans alike. After he attacked Mia, I put her in her crate, then he went after snow twice..so I grabbed him up off the ground and by that time I realized what was going on so I moved him by himself to eat and I stupidly (is that a word lol) put my hand in his bowl and yeah..he tried to bite...so not only did I take his bowl away, but he wasn't allowed to eat for awhile...then we tried again I sat on the floor and put my hand over his bowl and he wouldn't come near it...lol with that being said, he is now able to eat with my hand in the bowl, on his neck, messing with his ears, etc and there isn't a problem. He laid down halfway through me messing with him and was very calm..thButhelezi would take the food real easy from the bowl....But it's going to be a lot of work with the other dogs. Snow tried to rip his head off when he came after her antlers this evening...then again he did try to steal it out of her mouth...so hopefully this is just a bad puppy stage /dominate thing and we are able to break him of it.

Congrats! He's gorgeous! Sounds like you're on the right track with the food aggression.

sounds like you need to start as if he is an 8 week puppy! He probably had no one who cared how he behaved before, or he was the only dog. Oh and my Balon has an obsession for drinking water too!

Yeah he is terrible when it comes to food....almost like he has no idea why people are by him when he is eating. I don't think the people that had him really invested time in him at all.. He bit me yesterday..nothing serious, just on the finger because my hand was in his bowl, it hurts like a mother though lol. I'm still not sure if he just thought my finger was his food or not. He can eat around snow now though, mainly because snow has established that she is alpha and he knows as soon as she bares her teeth he's in trouble. I haven't tested him with the other two though...mainly because they are much smaller and I don't want it to get ugly. For now he is not allowed to eat unless it comes directly from my hands..then we will slowly introduce his bowl back to him. I'm going to give it two weeks, and If we don't have any type of improvement I'm putting him in puppy school through petsmart. He is very easy to train so far and has learned sit, lay, stay, high five, roll over, bow and how to open doors...(that's his favorite, and I wish the hubby wouldnt of taught him this one because he is loving the fact that he now knows how to get into my sons room to play lol) I'll put more pictures up in Snows scrapbook of them...when there isn't food around he is perfect, and gets along great with everyone...he even shares his toys!

| I would certainly continue to feed by hand and make him work for it. I don't like the whole hand in bowl fussing all over them thing. If anything it makes them more on edge they've just realized that snapping at you gets them in trouble. In that case you can actually create a ticking time bomb of when the dog is finally fed up and lashes out.
You just have to work slowly and make you being near his food a positive experience without pushing it over the edge. Also incorporating rules such as no one is allowed to even lick each others bowls until everyone is done. As long as they feel as though they are protected by you things do work themselves out and it alleviates itself. It could also just be a "new home" kind of thing and him settling. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?!
