| Hi everyone,
Been a little bit since I posted but I'll do an update in another thread since this one is for medical stuff.
Ranger's vet just called back with the test results from his fecal that was taken at his 12wk vacs apt on Saturday. He has tested positive for Giardia but is clear from anything else. They have prescribed him some meds for a 10day period 5 days on couple days off the another 5 days on and to give him some pro-biotic as well while he is on the medication.
So we need to sanitize everything he is in contact with according to the vet since we have children. So since bleach is a great sanitizer can I use it on my lawn without killing the lawn but killing the giardia? I was thinking 1:16 or maybe even 1:32 ratio would be safe for the lawn? I have 1,5arcs so its going to be a big spray down lol.
Anything else you guys recommend? |

| I don't know about the beach on the lawn, but the antibiotics will work on Ranger. My last husky caught giardia twice. Both times it was from drinking from creeks that drained down from the coast range at the beach. Lots of beaver, elk and deer up there. Now I am hyper vigilant about not letting my dog drink from streams. |

| I'm not sure what to do about the lawn in terms of spraying. But I do know that you need to be vigilant about cleaning up after him until he's done with the meds and cleared. He can reinfect himself from his own feces.
Good luck! _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Yep we have bagged straight away once he has done his business from day 1 of having him.
We get raccoons, rabbits, squirrel, deer, ducks and geese in our backyard so likely he got it from one of them?

| Probably. The old timers called it "beaver fever." |
