This has been an ongoing problem for several months now, and it's nice to see the FDA is at least investigating this. I really hope something does come from this. We really need more regulation of goods coming from China, as this seems to happen all too often. We were at my in laws last fall and I caught my MIL giving their dog and our 2 the Waggin' Train treats, and she had bit off on the "distributed by" line and completely missed the big "Made in China" below it. After arguing a bit, pointing out the "Made in China" and showing her articles then about it, she admitted that their Jack Russell had been having some issues and tossed the treats. She's now upgraded to Alpo treats
We had a bunch of Canyon Creek Ranch treats in the house and have since pitched all of them, too.

You just have to be very diligent about reading the bags and reading the whole bag. A lot of bags say made in America (or something similar) but imported from China...

I saw this a few weeks ago and keep meaning to do it!! Maybe over the long weekend!
Either way, my dogs really don't get treats. Their treats are baby carrots

Yeah, I can't convince her to spend a tiny bit extra to get the quality stuff. They're allegedly coming out this weekend (I hope my cats survive the dual Jack Russell Terrorists), so I might just give them the extra bag of Grandma Lucy's organic cookies that we have.

That was where the MIL and I went around for a while, she kept looking at the "distributed by" address and saying "no, this is made in the US!". I've actually seen a few that only say "distributed by" and I couldn't find any "made in" location on the packaging. That's all been with really cheap treats though.

I went through my mom's house and threw out every bag of crap treats she had, including the chicken jerky, and then went and bought her good stuff. She feeds her dogs good food (chi's are all on natural balance) but gives them treats from the grocery store that come in giant tubs. While I will admit that the fan favorite in my house is snausages in a blanket, I was really upset that she was giving her chi's waggin train treats.
I am going up next weekend, and have a feelin g I will have to do this again.

I recently received an e-mail from a company selling bully sticks, jerky, etc. They wanted to see if I would carry their products. The compnay had "AMERCIAN" in the title / part of their name, the graphics & logo were all red, white and blue....when I asked if all of the products were from American sources, they said yes....but many from South America
You definitely have to read the fine print and ask questions
