Forum Rules | 1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect. 2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff. 3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned. 4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule. |

| 10 Things Your Dog Would Tell You:
1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years. Any separation from you will be difficult: remember that before you get me.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.
3. Place your trust in me- it is crucial to my well being.
4. Do not be angry at me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment.
5. You have your work, your entertainment, and your friends...I only have you.
6. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understands your words, I understand your voice when it is speaking to me.
7. Be aware that how ever you treat me, I will never forget.
8. Remember before you hit me that I have teeth that could easily hurt you, but I choose not to bite you because I love you.
9. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, stubborn, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I might not be getting the right food, or I have been out too long, or my heart is getting too old and weak.
10. Take care of me when I get old; you too will grow old. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: "I cannot bear to watch" or "Let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there...even my death.
Remember that I love you. |

| I found this on facebook n thought the same thing! Dogs will love you & be loyal to you no matter how you treat them, it's just sad that some people don't realize that! |

| I wish I could save all these poor abused animals. People can be so cruel. |

| i love this, i definitely feel this way about rocky but i never knew how to explain to other people who view dogs as just animals that belong outside or have no real purpose. there's been so many battle wounds i've gotten from walking rocky or playing with rocky but i know better than to punish him for something he didn't mean to do -- the other day i was walking him and i slipped on a wet sidewalk, i was using a retractable leash and it fell out of my hand and rocky took off running. he ran down the block & i didn't chase him but called him to come back and he came back! i went to step on the leash & instead it wrapped around my ankle and gave my a nice deep burn. the crazy thing is when i explain what happened to people they'll always say, "well what did you do??" well i told him he was the best dog ever for running back to me instead of running down the street and probably getting hit by a car, and we walked back home (i'm sure they would have hit their dog for running off) it's incredibly sad how many people feel the need to punish their dogs for things that were done 10 minutes to 10 hours ago. thanks for sharing this! |

Wow that is amazing that he came running back! & yeah it is sad how some people would punish their dogs like that. What people don't realize is that these animals have feelings like us too! They just have different ways of expressing themselves.. |
