| As I mentioned in the welcome thread, we came across our sib through a friend. I have set up a vet appt for her for the 11th (installation vets seem to all go on vacay at same time) for her wellness and shots since there are no record. That being said, I need some help. Laska has gotten comfortable around us; she enjoys running with me, loves playing with us, started eating once we figured out we messed up by giving her soft food and then she refused everything else lol, but now something is off. Today, she woke me up by whining-which she never does. I took her outside for a short walk then came home and crawled back into bed after the normal morning tummy rub. Half an hour later, no extra sleep for me haha, she started whining again. I took her outside and she ate grass. (no diarrhea, vomiting, or constipation-her poop is normal for her and compared to my past animals). But as soon as she ate grass she went back inside on her own. I gave her her dental stick which she normally annihilates, and went to bathroom (yes, her potty needs come before mine) ab she hadn't touched it. I got on floor next to her and she ate it all. But now she won't let me touch her-and she always wants her belly rubbed. So, long story short-what is going on here? Any one have issues like that? Whining, grass, no letting ppl touch her, not eating unless someone's there? |

| Dogs are known to eat grass when they don't feel well, some just think they are cows... Sometimes my dogs get a little separation anxiety and wont eat until I come home. |

| I would see if you can find another vet to get her into sooner. Kya eats grass, too, but normally once she has vomited it up, she is fine. I hope you figure out what is wrong with her |

| A loss of appetite is pretty important warning sign. If she is lethargic as well I would take that as a pretty big indication that something is wrong.
I would think about trying to find a vet you can bring her to sooner then the 11Th if at all possible.
Better safe then sorry.
Without knowing exactly what is bothering her, or making her act this way I don't know that there is much people will be able to help with.
Brady is right however... Dogs do tend to eat grass when their stomachs are out of whack. Did she get into anything she wasn't supposed to??? Garbage maybe? Counter surfing??? anything you can think of?

| Do you mean she won't let you touch her tummy, or she doesn't want you to touch her anywhere? Does that mean her stomach is distended at all, or is it normal? Has she tried to be sick at all? Is she laying down and lethargic or is she moving around and pacing?
It's hard to help without knowing more info. Like Chris said, is it possible that she has eaten something she shouldn't? That might explain it.
Huskies are not especially susceptible to bloat (malamutes more so because they have a wide chest), but since it sounded like she didn't want her tummy touched I'll mention it just in case. You can see a video with the symptoms of bloat here. Like I said, it's probably not that, but I'm mentioning it (since we can't diagnose from the internet) because if it is that, then she needs a vet right away.
Eating grass is common. Ghost eats grass and then is usually sick a few minutes later, and it's nothing to worry about. After he's been sick he's back to normal.
If you're worried about her, you can always call the vet for advice, since a phone call is free. They will tell you if she needs to go in or if you can wait and see.
I hope she's better soon.
