Anyone have any experience with EVO? Currently in transition from TOTW due to recent recalls.

We tried the red one, dogs loved it... Stools were very loose, mucousy, and gave them gas. Didn't get it again. I wouldn't purchase from them due to the proctor and gamble buyout of natura.

Try acana. It's great, dogs love it and ultimately price evens out because servings are smaller.

I used Evo as part of my rotation diet for years. My sibe did fantastic on the turkey/chicken formula but he couldn't tolerate the red meat formula. However my chi girls did great on both the red meat and turkey/chicken formula. I stopped feeding Evo after the P&G buyout as the quality was assuredly going to go down under new ownership.

I would try something else (Acana, Orijen, Fromm, etc) over EVO. I also am concerned about P&G owning the company...prefer an indepenedent company with history of few or no recalls

Acana is not grain free is it? Evo has 42% protein and Acana only has mid to high 20s

Acana is grain free (except for their new L.I.D formuals, called "singles). Acana protein levels vary with the formula but they are in the low 30% range: http://www.championpetfoods.com/acana/products.php

I feed wild prairie. It is grain free. In fact, I've even seen reduced itchign from my sibes since switching from totw even.

Unless you are racing your dogs in the Iditarod, a protein level in the 20s is usually quite sufficient.

Before the P&G switch, we tried Koda on EVO. He did great for about 2 weeks. Then the amount of protein he was taking in caused the runs. It was just too rich for him and he couldn't handle it.

It's important that you find the right balance for your dog. If you were on TOTW before, you were only feeding between 25-35% protein. 42% if quite possibly too much.

Acana has different varieties! Pacifica, Ranchlands, Grasslands, and Wild Prarie are their grain free foods which I have fed in the past. Protein % is in the 30's
