| Anya does therapy visits, so she gets baths a lot. I'm always looking for something gentle but effective, that won't dry her skin. I've tried a dozen different varieties and was never happy. They either were too drying, or didn't get her very clean. But VICTORY! I have found the holy grail of shampoo and conditioner! A friend who shows Akitas recommended Rosie B Good to me, so I placed an order. They have a few different varieites, but because Anya is white, we did the Brighter Than White Cloud shampoo and the Smoother Than Velvet conditioner She looks magnificent. Her coat is nearly blindingly white, she's so silky soft and her skin isn't dry at all. We're in Florida, so we polished it off with a quick spritz of sunscreen to protect her coat from frying, and she has literally caused people to pull over on the side of the road to look at her. This is what celebrities must feel like. |

| I've swapped over to John Paul Pet Oatmeal shampoo and have been very happy with it, but Kenzi doesn't get washed overly much. I am fascinated by this sunscreen though. Have thought about how nice it would be to have such a thing but didn't know of any or if I would notice a difference using any. _________________ |

I do notice a difference with the sunscreen. Last summer, the sun caused the ends of her hair to get fried and turn yellowish-brown. Now it seems to be more protected, so she's still white with silvery tips |

| If we spend a lot of time outside I notice that Kenzi's red becomes a little more orange. She's usually really dark copper. Might have to try that stuff out and see if that helps with some of her bleaching. _________________ |

| Thanks for the recommendation, Kat! I put this on my list to try when I finish the products that I have. I have tried so many different shampoos and conditioners and have found a couple that a like more than most (Bio-Groom & Earthbath) but still haven't found something that a "love" in terms of shampoo/conditioner. You have me really interested in trying the Rosie B. Good line.
I saw mention of John Paul Pet and I tried it after seeing lots of stellar reviews of it on a previous husky forum. But I was left disappointed and unimpressed especially after all the hype about it. _________________ |

| ^Yeah, I tried John Paul and wasn't thrilled. it did nothing for her coat and didn't really get her clean. |

| This is great! I'll be teaching Kenney how to show Kage, and since she'll be getting regular baths as a result, having a good shampoo and conditioner is ideal. I'll be sure to try these first! |

If you are going to be showing, don't bother with conditioners. They make the coat feel too soft which can be mistaken for inappropriate coat texture/type. I do like the Groomer's Edge products. Particularly their whiteners...but full disclosure, most of our show baths are diluted dawn (blue) dis soap with Vitamin E and Tea Tree Oil added. |

| I'm curious as to what sunscreen you're using? I also live in Florida and know how damaging the sun can be. |

| We use the Chris Christensen Ice on Ice Spray With Sunscreen
It's a little pricey, but lasts forever. We bought a bottle two years ago and use it every day, and we still have some left.
It does keep her coat detangled, and keep her coat from turning yellow. |
