| So over the last month or so Sierra has been trying to hump Jack more than normal. normally she will walk up to Jack as he is laying there and just start making the movements next to him and then she just walks away, never really touching him. but over the weekend she was trying to mount him! of course Jack wanted nothing to do with it and they would get into a tiff and stop. why is she doing this? she is fixed but being a girl that was used for breeding maybe she just misses it? or is Jack giving off some kind of scent? any ideas?..... |

| Wow, that was one of your more descriptive posts. Heh. That's something I let them get bloody over. That might not be a comfortable route for you, but I let Sioux just about destroy Coco for that. She did that for the first few months to pretty much every dog that came along. Then she got her ass kicked and all was well. |

| It's assertion of dominance. I think Harrise is right... just let them duke it out. One of them has to learn at some point who is going to be the dominant one. I mean, I wouldn't let it escalate too too far, but if you can let them settle it on their own, that would be best.
But the humping thing is dominance. For some reason Sierra feels that she needs to tell Jack she's the boss. _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| Sierra's playing the dominance dance as I like to call it. lol Like Tori said, it's purely dominance and I recommend just letting them sort it out themselves. _________________ |

| Ok, one issue we have is that all three of ours will go at it. Seriously, they form a conga line and go at it! EMBARASSING with company! So, I know it's a dominance thing. Nanuk & Isis went at it when it was just those two. But, since we brought Mika home, it's like doggie porn. Tommy has said the same thing, they need to duke it out. When it's Nanuk & Isis going at it, it never seems to escalate. But weirdly, when it's just Nanuk & Mika, issues develop. We thought the two girls would try to bicker about who is in charge, but never thought a male & female would. Was Nanuk just letting Isis THINK she was in charge, whereas Mika really WANTS to be in charge? And, I am afraid that during one of their conga lines, if a fight breaks out, it would not be good. Any ideas? Do we just let them all figure it out? |
