Hey all, I am new here and hope to learn much. I rescued two stray white Huskies last year and since then I have been learning a lot about the breed, and of course grown attached to them. I named them Kyra and Momma Husky and found out later they are sisters (its a kinda long story one I will post about eventually). Anyway Momma Husky has a weird habit. I have had a lot of different dog breeds in the past, but never have I seen any breed do what Momma does. Its hard to explain so here's a video that shows her doing it.
At first she just did it on her own when other dogs were walking around and she was laying down, but she did it so much I gave it a name (paddle boat! ) and now she will do it on command. Especially if you rub her belly first.
Is this a Husky thing? Or is she just crazy. Shes a good dog for the most part, listens well even when she is having fun chasing something she will stop if I tell her no.

I've never seen my pups do this, but I see a lot of Pomeranian's do it! It's like she is waving

Nope. Kiara will randomly kick her legs though when we r laying on the bed kind of playing. Or she will burry her head in the blankets and sit w her head against me burried in the covers. I can't tell u how many times he's randomly kicked her legs out of excitement and launched my miniature pincer off the bed. Hahaha

Weird, it must be just her then. None of my other Huskies do it either, but I notice she tends to do it when shes in a play full mood (which is most of the time shes not sleeping).

Willow does this!! I've been meaning to take a video of it. She is a total spaz when she does it. The first time I thought she was having a seizure but she stopped as soon as I xalled her name. She looked at me like she was saying "what?" then went right back to doing it.

haha that super cute! Khuno does not do it... but he will kick me in the private part any time i'm on the floor with him... i really should invest in a cup

Thor and Nero kick their back legs like they are riding a bicycle when we rub their bellies like it tickles them. Maybe it tickles her when you rub her belly and that's why she does it.

That sounds like what mine does to a T. My mom is an RN and she thought she was having a seizure as well the first time she seen it. But its not, Momma Husky is just being silly.

My samoyed used to do something similar to that. But my two huskies don't.
