| Hi, we're a small kennel on Moose Mountain about 20 miles NW of Fairbanks, AK. I've been into Siberians for about 20 years and we're currently owned by 4 usual suspects: Chuckie who ran the Iditarod in 2007 as part of JP Norris' team out of Willow, sisters Chitina and Feather and Koyuk a rescue.
Koyuk has the distinction of being the only sibe I've ever let off leash simply because walking him on a leash was too much of a pain. He comes back on call, actually fetches a ball (if you can believe that) and is generally a typical sibe at 2 years old - with too much energy for his own good.
Best from 65 North

| Ahhh alas, that picture was of our first litter. My little girl Adina, front middle, alas passed this past June at 16 and her absence like all those whom we've been lucky enough to be owned by is still felt. Death is part of life though it doesn't make it any easier.
Thank you for the welcome

| Welcome! That's a great picture, but I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of Adina. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | Though we've had many dogs over the years, lastly I need to pay homage to whom this kennel is named. Kolohe. It means "sassy" in Hawaiian and he was one of our rescues that over 6 months drove us all insane until Adina finally stepped in and settled the matter. By then we couldn't place him, he had become part of the pack with Adina, Stanley, Thunder... Alas he was misdiagnosed (again) by a former vet and he died too young. He was a little boy who was abused and neglected and came back from the brink with a sense of humor and loyalty. He thought Adina was his girlfriend and she thought of him as her son. And we loved him all the more. We'll meet again Kolohe siberian |

| Unless it's pouring rain they are on top of the houses to keep an eye on anything edible. We live 20 miles from town amongst bears, moose of course, lynxes, wolverines and wolves which is why I don't tether my dogs. Four of them will put down a wolf if it were to break in somehow. Bears are less of an issue though we did have one that came to drink from the rain barrel last summer. But food is kept in locked containers that "supposedly" are bear proof. We have our own well, generator, dump our own garbage, haul our own propane and are basically independent from the city. We try and fish and hunt to last us through the winter for us and the kids. Winter we run dogs, spring is three days and doesn't really count other than what was white is now brown and slushy. Then there's summer and a mad dash to plant things (salad, carrots, strawberries, potatoes etc.) that just love the 22 hours of daylight, fix anything that needs to be done, and then go fishing and camping to discover this great land we live in. Autumn is hunting season (moose, dahl sheep etc.) and then in September the first snow comes and we get ready for another season.
Being outside the limits we also maintain our own roads. I'm one of the road commissioners for our 13 miles of roads which we're responsible for grating, snow and brush clearing, etc. for the 200 people who live in this area.
It's a different life up here. Summers can hit the high 80s with 22 hours of daylight and the winter solstice brings 22 hours of darkness and temps that dropped this year to -60F and were below -40F for a month. Plan B is a necessity.
That's a little about me and living 100 miles or so from the arctic circle.
I do have a request. If any of you have any leads on a siberian husky line called Yeso Pac, please contact me. TIA
