Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Hello all. My name is Scott and I am 1 week in to Husky world. Nicko is 12 weeks old is my first puppy. My girlfriend wanted a Husky because she had one as a kid. We are having some rough times right now, but I still enjoy every second with him. Can't wait to read some posts and get some advice. I will put some pictures up as soon as I figure out how.

Welcome! You will survive puppyhood, I promise. This forum will help a lot too, it was my sanity last year.

Check this thread out, it should help on posting pictures: https://www.itsahuskything.com/t121-how-to-upload-photos-or-resize-them-for-the-forum

Good luck!

Welcome! My husband and I are brand new husky owners too, and we can totally relate to the rough times. We went from a life of leisure (no kids, just the two of us, coming and going whenever we please) to such a life change. We've had out little guy for 8 weeks now. We picked him up when he was 8 weeks old and all I can say is our normal quiet life is no longer! He's so adorable though, and as much as we are struggling with some of our lifestyle changes, we absolutely adore him. We see improvement every day. He has been going to puppy kindergarten classes since he was 10 weeks old, and I can tell you that the instruction we have been given has helped us immensely. He is still teething and biting quite a bit, but our biggest problem by far has been with sleeping. We've done everything by the book. And I say that literally as my husband and I bought three books on Siberian Husky's before we got him and did tons of internet research on the best ways to raise our puppy. What I've learned over the past 8 weeks, is there comes a time when you have to stop worrying about what the books say, and do what works best in your house. Qannik is currently 16 weeks old and thriving. He had a vet visit yesterday and is a healthy 20lbs.
