Embry had a pretty heavy coat blow January/February and now his coat is super hoarse and feels sunburnt like unlike Zoey who has a super plush soft coat.

I started them on Brewer's Yeast supplements, 5 daily and a raw egg once a week.

Anything else I can do to help it get softer and healthier?

Fish Oil is great for coats! Try washing his coat with a good moisturizing shampoo and conditioner! One that has oatmeal in it are great, but Mane N Tail shampoo/conditioner is an excellent choice that I would highly recommend! If you feel shampooing will dry out his skin or his hair more, you can always just do the conditioner by itself that will moisturize.

Olive Oil & Coconut Oil are great for human hair and I give myself an oil treatment every now and then, so I think because it's natural it would be perfectly fine for dog's too.

Adding the egg into the diet is a really good idea! You could probably get away with giving it more often than just once a week, especially since his hair is so dry.

The kind of food you feed also effect the coat quality, so as long as you're giving him good food, his coat should bounce back in no time.

Royal Jelly Shampoo from the Isle of dogs is supposed to help promote hair growth and help after a coat blow. No clue if it really works, but a lot of professionals use it!

Yeah Kelly, he's on TOTW and his coat is usually really good, but we had a really awkward winter so he blew really early and I don't know what happened lol

Oh tell me about it! The winter here was absolutely crazy! One minute it was cold and snowing then the next it was hot and sunny and we were wearing t-shirts. So strange ....

A leave in conditioner I really like is "Ice on Ice." Makes their hair silky soft, but don't get any on a hard floor or you'll slip! It's suposed to have sunscreen in it too.

For those considering using fish oils avoid fish "liver" oils as they contain to much vitamin D which can bring complications.

Cod liver oil and other fish liver oils have been very popular for omega-3 fatty acids, and indeed they are rich in these fats. However, fish liver oils are very high in Vitamin D; dogs and cats have much lower requirements for Vitamin D than humans. Excessive quantities of Vitamin D in pets can result in abnormal calcium and phosphorus levels that can cause mineralization and calcification of vital tissue and organs. Urinary stones can also be promoted by calcium abnormalities. Therefore, fish body oils without Vitamin D are preferred for pets.
