Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

So it occurred to me over the weekend as I was laid up in bed with a bad back and a bad head cold that my comfort came second to our dogs! Jack was pushing his way on the bed with no regard to where I was laying and it dawned on me that I wanted him to lay where ever he wanted to regardless if it meant for me to move or deal with his head/feet on me or pushed up on me. I decided I was crazy! we do this battle every night in bed as Ken and I settle in AROUND the dog/dogs as to not disturb them, please tell me in not the only crazy one out there Smile I have also lost my spot on the sofa as Jack has taken over the end of the sofa and arm so he can look out the window. yes I know we can tell them to get down but I don't have the heart to do so as there cute faces make my heat melt!

It depends on where Gigantor (Evo) is laying if I allow it! But yes - I've been known to settle around both dogs and all three cats who take turns hating each other. It's a madhouse!

Heh. At least you haven't gotten to what I call "stage 5". That's where I go upstairs to go to bed after everyone else, the dogs are scattered around my spot in bed, and I grab a pillow then curl up on the floor. No kidding.

We did this until one of our two growled at Lucas as he tried to crawl into bed. So we had to put an end to it right there. We now make them get off the bed when we get in it. Although, if Sirmiq doesn't feel like we leave him enough space he will sometimes crawl between us and start using his feet and back to push us out. He normally gets punted off the bed for this.

I was a total pushover for the first week that we had our sibe. After a week of discomfort and not getting any sleep in an effort to keep the freaking DOG comfortable I put the brakes on that immediately. I hope he enjoyed it while he had it. Razz
