| Has anyone fed this to their dogs before? Drogo and Navi really like fish and I thought this might be a good one to try. It is rather expensive, however. I tried doing some research on whether or not it was a good (and safe) fish to feed dogs but I couldn't find much information on it. Any thoughts?
I've also been unable to get my hands on kidney recently, going on a couple of weeks now. I -REALLY- don't want to even consider going back to kibble, but I'm scared that this diet is technically "incomplete" without this organ. ;___; |

I give them livers once a week, but I wonder, too, if I am harming them because they don't get both organs. |

| I wouldn't see anything wrong with feeding the herring in moderation. My sibe doesn't tolerate any fish so we don't feed it here.
If you're having trouble finding certain organs locally you could try ordering a bunch online. Then freeze the lot and feed it as needed. As long as your dogs are getting some organ I wouldn't worry too much right now, but in the long run you will need to get other organs to keep things on track and healthy. Another idea that I use is to supplement your raw diet with a nutritionally complete either pre-made frozen raw or freeze-dried raw that includes organ. Most frozen pre-made raws will fit better with an existing PMR diet. There's also two freeze-dried raw foods that I like to supplement which contain organ, those are Ziwipeak and Stella & Chewy's. Also, if you can find treats made of organ that's another supplement you could try. However if you do try the organ treat route do not use it as a 'replacement' for raw organs in a PMR diet, it helps to have but doesn't eliminate the need for fresh organ. _________________ |
