| Smelling the darn bush again. He pees on it on average 6 times every trip in the backyard. Him and Jackson(lab mix) take turns. |

| He has a white strip that runs down the back of his head, and a brown strip that runs on his belly to match. The spots on his legs are where his hair is still shedding. The white hair is coming out from underneath. His coat is a lot lighter there than it is on the rest of his back, but its not white. And thank you, I think he is very handsome as well! |

Be careful what you wish for! How long have you had him? He change a bit still after he settles into his new home! |

| I have had him less than a week. I was just expecting a little more ommpf from him, and he hasnt touched anything. Which I'm glad, but it concerns me that hes so lazy and docile! Wehave been looking for a new dog for around 4 months now. Decided we didnt want a puppy, but a younger dog. I was dead set on a heeler, because I used to raise them. But we ended up with Neo instead. When my friend told me he had to get rid of him, I knew I had to have him. I remember when he first bought Neo a year ago and would send me pictures of him all the time. His old dad is a truck driver, and Neo traveled with him from the time he was a pup, to about a month ago. I read everything I could find on the internet about huskies, and he just doesnt seem normal. Well, He did kill my blinds, but other than his prey drive and escaping the fence, he just lays around on thecouh till I make him get up and go outside. He is still a joy none the less, and absolutly wonderful in the house. I was just expecting a little more huskieness from him, and it came as a shocker that hes so laid back. I will wait and see how he is when he gets settled in, then maybe i might be changing my tune a little bit! |

| He probably just needs to settle in more - but since you know his previous owner, what did they say about him? He may also be lethargic from the hot weather...
He's gorgeous, congrats! |

| I think our little boy is perfect.... I've been ruining with him as hard and as far as I can. We did about a mile and a half lastnight and another mile this morning. He runs really well in the new harness but still gets easily distracted. SQUIRREL !! Lol. When I don't take him out, you take him for walks. So he definitely gets his exercise in and I think that helps, my guess is the hot weather is keeping him slow. I'm just glad that there's someone in the house who likes it cooler than 70 degrees.
We will see what happens when it gets cool out and snows a little. I'm just happy he seems happy. I'm glad I let you bring him to our home and that you talked me into giving him a chance. Now I'm definitely hooked because after all, " it's a husky thing"! |

| if it makes you feel better my Nikki is the same thing. most DOCILE husky i've ever met. except when it comes to playing with other dogs and being off leash (i mean running away..heh heh..luckily thats never actually happened) she is content to lay around all day and if she misses her walk that day it doesnt affect her in the least. i'm counting my blessings...and i know if i ever get another husky i will have my work cut out for me i'm SURE... i got nikki when she was 2 1/2 (she's now 6) and the worst she's ever done is get into the trash, rip up come carpet when i FIRST got her and she didnt know who i was or what was happening. she totally didnt mind being crated at the time and that happened before i had a crate. uhhh lets see what else...she got into a fudge brownie left sitting on the counter..hello emergency vet visit..and she got into a pack of gum and another e-vet visit because i'm paranoid. but yeah other than that she's a perfect lady. she's a little "dominant" over other dogs if things get too out of hand but i dont know how well she was socialized before i got her and i can now take her to the dog park no problem after working with her. anyway. just letting you know you're not alone in having a "docile" husky. i've just come to accept that i'm lucky she has energy when i need her too and is laid back when she's in the house or whenever i need her to be. |

| Luckily nothing has happened yet. I'm fortunate to only work about a half mile from home, so I make frequent potty visits and to encourage him for being a good boy. We (I<3neo and I) have not crated him as of yet when we leave for work. I may not always come inside when I check on him but peer in through the window only to find him sprawled out on the couch spooning one of his toy animals. Thanks for the reassurance and I hope he continues on his well behaved path. Again, we exercise him first thing in the morning and after it's dark in hopes he is pooped and doesn't get into anything, so far it has worked. I do believe he has settled in because he roams the house alone and doesn't follow us around as much. At first he was like our little shadow, but not so much anymore.
He has gotten accustomed to the alarm clock and when he hears it, ITS GO TIME...... The snooze bar is nonexistent for us now.... The first few nights he would whine a little bit, but now he's as quiet as a mouse, until the alarm goes off. Interestingly, he always knows when it's bed time and heads straight for the foot of our bed. Neo likes to watch t.v, with us as we wind down in bed. His favorite so far is police shows like cops, I guess because he realizes that's what his daddy does. I just wish I could take him to work, but I'm not allowed as of yet. Everyone at work is sick of seeing pictures but everyone always states how beautiful he is. ( husky's aren't a popular breed in the Nashville area for whatever reason!)
This is by far the most informative forum about the breed that I have found. I really do appreciate the encouragement, advice, and wisdom I have been given thus far. Thank you all. |

| It's amazing how much his mask has changed. That still gets me how some husky's appearance can change so drastically. Dakota looks nothing like his puppy pics, but I think Willow didn't change much. |

| That's crazy how much his little face has changed!! Such a cutie! Our first husky never changed at all in all the 17 years of her life, so until seeing pics like these on this forum, I did not even know they can change like this. Glad you are still enjoying your Neo!! |

| I think he has gotten darker as well, but figured it was my eyes playing tricks on me. He definatly has put a few ponds on him, and im sure 5 more wouldnt hurt. I cant beleive i have had him over a month now, he sure has made his place in the family, and has turned out to be a great dog! |
