Bella is eating fallen Silverberries from a bush in the yard. I know they are non-toxic, but she is eating them pits and all and I'm worried about a GI blockage. Plus they are giving her the winds something fierce (She's going to get kicked out of my office soon!)
Trying to pick up as many as I can but there are thousands. My old dog never paid them any mind, but this new pup is devouring them.

Anybody have any issues with dogs eating non-toxic pitted berries?

well that's a tough call. either keep her away from the bush area (tie out in yard), rake all the berries away, or remove the bushes all together.

I see according to your supplied info the fruit itself is about 1" in size. How big are the pits/seeds? If they're small I wouldn't worry about it unless the stomach area starts to swell indicating blockage.

The fruit on mine is more like 1/2" to 3/4" inch, with 1/2" fibrous pits. From the partially consumed ones I've found the pits are hard but seem very crunch-able and shred-able.

I went out again this afternoon and I have about 90% of them off the ground and off the bushes. Luckily the bright red jam between the pit and skin doesn't stain fingers - or puppies!

They won't fruit again until next winter, so I'll be okay until I have a chance to move them to the front yard and replace them with some innocuous Silver King Euonymous.

Good news on the Silverberry front. I've collected 99% of them so she's not looking for them anymore, and I've seen that the pits have made the full trip through the pup.

It will be interesting to see if new Silverberry shrubs appear in my landscaping compost!
