Hello out there to you fellow husky/malmute owners in Fredericton/Oramocto! I love taking my pup to the dog park but never seem to catch anyone else there with huskys... i dont know if its my poor timing or if just not many people in fredericton have a husky? long storey short just shoot me a response to this post of the times you like to go to city view dog park and ill try to make it work! (I also go to Moncton from time to time) I will be going to the larger dog park on the South side at the Grant Harvey Center when they open later this summer but for now the north side is still very nice. I hope to see lots of feedback!!! Thanks

Hello there, We have two huskies, one adult and one baby... we hit the dog park on the north side from time to time. We have only seen a few huskies there from time to time. Our furry children go to a daycare that have three huskies and they love it!! Our schedules don't always allow us to go the times you have listed on kijiji but we will definitely try to get there at those times when it works! Both our boys love to play We go to the park when we can - no real schedule at the moment. How many huskies do you have?

Hey The boys didn't stay long at the dog park today. Unfortunately we had a bad experience - first time for everything. Our oldest boy, Daxx was attacked by 2 Newfloundland/Great Pyranese tonight. He is all in one piece and seems no worse for the wear. The owner of the 2 dogs didn't warn us nor did they interfere. The 2 dogs had to be dragged off Daxx and we had to put them out of the park area. The owner then let them back in off leash and free to roam. Needless to say the boys came home. The day care we use is the Lovely Doggy House. They are located on Islandview Drive in Douglas. If you are on Facebook, they have a page... Lovely Doggy House. They are great! I will be sure to update when we are going to the park again oh p.s.... the people who run the daycare just had a litter of husky puppies!!!

I am sorry to hear that you had a bad time! i still wish i had gone... apparently we are getting rain untill Tuesday I have only been about 5 or 6 times but there have only been friendly dogs and owners their so far. I did have a small problem when another dog had brought a squeaker toy and my dog decided it was going to be his new squeaker toy; he got a little aggressive.. but nothing a few time outs and BADS's/NO's! didnt fix Thank you for the day care link, i will look into it! (as far as my next visit goes is depending on weather right now... i only have a 2 door car so i dont like taking him anywhere 2 muddy...)

It sure was a distressing visit to the park yesterday but we usually have good adventures there. We keep a close watch on our boys and wish other owners would do the same but that isn't always the case. The most important thing outside of neither of them being hurt is that they know that we will step in and take care of situations. We don't want our guys to be aggressive or behave dominantly. The weather sure does look terrible for the next while. We are lucky to have a jeep that has pretty much transformed into the pup-mobile. We may have a quiet weekend too but if Daxx and Nanook begin to suffer from cabin fever we will venture out in our rain jackets Either way, if we go to the dog park we will post a message I am not sure if the daycare is open on the weekends but definitely contact them. They are really great there. Our boys sure our happy after a day with them. They come home, eat dinner and sleep until the next morning! Love it!!

I am usually connected, a sad sad addiction really... I know you said that you go to Moncton sometimes too. We got Daxx as an adult dog from Scoudouc, just outside Moncton from Melissa Cormier. She runs Mel's Waggin' Tail Inn. She has a daycare and kenneling service. She also has 6 or 7 Huskies. She is absolutely amazing. She runs all kinds of programs. If you are in that area ever, she is definitely worth contacting for any services you may need. Nice to know there are few more of us out here Huskies are pretty amazing!

ha-ha; Yeah, Huskies are amazing!!! i bought Lucian (My brother really wanted me to name him after a a werewolf character in a Underworld movie) from a breeder in Saint john when we was 12 weeks and i dont know if i want to go through the puppy phase again or adopt. i am going to think about it.. not a decision i should make overnight... Lucian is 2 and turns 3 this November! I LOVE spending time with the guy! I've recently ordered a custom "x-back" harness and bungee line from alpine outfitters (i don't think i'm aloud to post the link) and we are going to try bikejoring this year! should get it in a couple of days... And 6 huskies in Moncton? wow! i'm sure i will look into that one aswell Thank you! Mike.

oooooh!!!!! so so cool!!! We are looking into skijoring this winter!!! There are 2 huskies (one may be a mix) that are up for adoption from the spca in oromocto right now too. Yes, take your time making a decision. It sure changes your life and the puppy phase, as fun as it is, can be a little much at times!! We feel really lucky to have Daxx, I think he takes the brunt of Nanook's puppiness! Poor guy!! I have a friend in Dryden, Ontario who has 7 dogs, 5 of them huskies. She set me up with inukshuk food made for huskies. She orders it from Fredericton by the pallet but we just pick it up by the bag. It is worth checking out too Oh the world of huskies!

| HAHA, Too funny!
It a Small world! my father is a Manager/Quality Assurance at Corey feeds (the producer of inukshuk food) and we get bags for free.. I use a special mix though depending on how much exercise we think he will be doing...

wow!! it is a small world!!! I recommended inukshuk to the daycare and she is using it now too so do you get a different blend than what they sell? we find the blend suitable for the puppy a little harsh on his tummy... i think we were over feeding him for a while so we are working on finding the right balance so keep his tummy a bit more settled...

My father tried explaining it but it sorta went in 1 ear and out the other.. from what i remember is its all the same ingredients that they use in their dog food but different recipes. for instance the inuksuk has more fats and proteins (more fish fats i think) and the normal dog food has more corn and sustainable fats. please dont quote me on that... i will be sure to gather more intel next time! Im still in the process of trying to convince them to use Lucian as a poster dog on there bag anyhow; i should be off 2 bed soon. i work overnights from 10-6 and pretty much lose my Fridays sleeping so i can see civilization on the weekends Lucians alrdy sleeping... Thank you again for all the info! i will probably wait till next week to contact the daycare since i feel like a zombie right now but am excited that I found a daycare that doesnt just put them in small cages.. altho im sure it will only be once in awhile visits since i love having him home soo much!
