Loki's three months old now and at this point im use to it. But when he goes into his crate and falls asleep he sings and howls for about a hour or so a night with snoring in between howls lol....at first it freaked me out thinking he wanted out till i opened his kennel slowly not disturbing him and petted him, he jumped up scared cuz i woke him up.I was just wondering if anyone elses huskies do this. He won't do it during the day time when hes awake. I've played youtube vids of other huskies singing and he just ignores it. If i remember to do it i'll record it and post it.
It just trips me out every once in a while. I figured he was whining to get out but i now know his "let me out" noise lol

Mylo, use to be a very vocal sleep talker but usually after about 4 hours. The first few times It scared the Hades out of me because of the long drawn out "wolf" howls he would do.

Kya and Rio are BOTH sleep talkers. It scared me too at first because Rio was growling in her sleep. When I wacked her nose for it, she jumped up, stretched and looked at me like WTF MOM?!

It's hilarious, unless you are exhausted and can't sleep with the noise. I can sleep through anything pretty much.

Ginger usually only does soft baby barks once in a while - it's adorable. She also snores soft.

Dakota used to run, laying on his side, in his sleep. I always wondered if he was dreaming about chasing a hot dog! He also did some low huffs/whining combination on occasion. I didn't like it when he did that because I always worried he was having a nightmare when he did that.

Our pups will both move thier paws and noses, and Juno will whimper a little bit. Sometimes it does seem like she is having a nightmare.

Okay, so add-on question.... If you think your dog is having a nightmare, and not chasing kittens and bunnies in their dream, do you wake them up?

I admit... I have woken them up, but always made sure I was a good distance away, in case they woke up confused and scared and snapped. It never happened that way, they would always wake up , their breathing would return to normal right away, and then they would look around, yawn, lick their lips, and lay back down.

But, just wondering if anyone else has thought about waking them up, and what their reactions have been.

Our trainer has told us not to wake them up, but just to make sure that everyone is away from them because they could wake up, as you said, scared and confused and snap at some one. I've never had that happen, but I let them dream it out just in case.

I've woken Esmer up from several nightmares and got smacked in the face, so I wont wake up a dog LOL!

I don't wake them up in case they wake up in a panic. Let sleeping dogs lie and all that ...

I always woke Dakota up when I thought he was having a nightmare but I didn't do it physically. Not because I worried he would react bad, I just didn't want to get out of bed. lol! All I did was say his name softly and it always woke him up. It never startled him. He would just open his eyes and look at me and then close them again. I don't think he ever even lifted his head up.

It's normal REM; It's actually a good sign when puppies dream, it means that they are having normal brain wave and nerve function

layla will kick her legs like shes is running and real soft puppy like barks.

have only woke her up once when she was doin this, will never do it again. viscous growl and snap at me. scared the shit outa me. immediatly after it happened she reallized what she had done and put her head down and was lookin up at me like im sooooo sooorrrry daddy
