| I have a friend who is in a meet up group for hiking with dogs. She is an CGC evaluator. She has decided from the goodness of her heart to offer CGC practice classes for free. She made a meet up group. I was doing it all on my own and she will help me more with loose leash walking, and stay. The only thing seems to be all maggie's problems. I really want to know how to help her so she can pass! |

| Biko received his CGC back on Feb 1st and I noticed that if he is on leash inside a building he listened much better then if out doors. So when you get tested hope its inside not out. At first I thought the evaluator was being quite lax about the rules but when only 4 of 10 passed I realized I was wrong and Biko just had a great day. |

| Ghost is the same way. Inside she's a pretty good, outside is a disaster. I'm now on my 4th anti pull harness. About the only time she doesn't try to rip my arm out is in the training/testing room at our PetSmart.
Good luck with the training, Erica! I'm sure Maggie will have no problems passing. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | speaking of a no pull harness, this so called trainer at the event I went to yesterday, told me that, a cgc tells you nothing about the dog and that huskies and malamutes are easy to control on walks. She said none of these anti pull stuff works. She doesn't believe in positive reinforcement like patting the dog for doing something good. Maggie walked all over this trainer at my vendor event. She was so embarrassed about Maggie not listening to her. I said malamutes and huskies tend to be good advocate of positive re-enforcement. She is firm and mean with all commands and no reward like a pet. Of course Maggie being a stubborn mal was bored! |
