Just some update pics! I don't know what these are, but I do like them because of the cute, small white flowers. Hostas growing in nicely, and the balloon flowers (in front) starting to grow in too! Irises from Jenn that she divided up from her plant last year that are going to bloom! Most of the Irises that I got from Jenn has buds, so most of them will flower! Star Gazer Lillies are also growing in nicely! They've grown in a lot from last year because it wasn't this full last year!

wow i have missed all your new pictures! everything is coming back nicely! and im glad you did get some of the white and yellow irises as well as the purple blue ones im so happy we did not have to wait a season for them to bloom after the divide, wait till next yr they will be even bigger taking up more room and in time they could fill your whole garden if you want them to. my hostas are coming up in the back as well, they were sad looking last yr. im gonna come still your stargazers when they bloom! _________________

Just a couple of updated pics - we're working on a rock boarder in the lower retaining wall to help keep the wood chips from draining out when it rains. Beautiful Irises in the background that Jenn gave us! I still want to get a few phlox and pansies to fill in the gaps and i think we should be OK to let things just fill out over the seasons.

| Unrelated but there's a house we pass when we walk that has a HUGE sign (i'm not even kidding it must be about 3 ft. long and 2 ft. high) that they have posted on some big stake that says "STOP A THIEF! REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY! SOMEONE IS STEALING ROCKS FROM OUR ROCK GARDEN!"
It makes me laugh that people actually steal rocks..?
I wish the housefront looked like that here. We can't grow anything due to the huge trees on the swale blocking all the sun.

i hope that helps with the draining If you have rocks about 4-5" big, and wanna give them away, we'll take them! We got some to see what it would look like and we'll need to get another 70-80 rocks to finish off the boarder! |

I went to Arizona for the week and came back to all kinds of surprises in my retaining walls out front! Day lillies have bloomed and looks like there will be lots more blooming! Stargazer lillies (I think that's what they're called) all now have at least 3 buds and should be blooming soon! Purple ballon flowers have bloomed, and the pink flowers have spread out ALOT since we planted them as a small plant to start last October. I love when the flowers open during the day and go to sleep at night. (They're closed in the picture since it's still 'early' morning for the flowers to open for the day. My MIL also came for a visit while I was in Arizona over the weekend and decided to fill in the gaps with other flowering plants and to give the soil another feeding of compost to help them along! Eventually, we will finish the rock boarder along the edge to help the mulch from running off when it rains. ...and this big poofy plant was just the size of a softball last October when we first planted it!

See you can grow flowers and score on the MIL coming over and giving you more plants! _________________

Didn't know until MIL left yesterday that she also bought a couple of starter herb plants and planted them! So I also have basil and cilantro and something else that I can't easily identify - and hubby forgot what it is! _________________

The red lillies around the base of the tree in front of the house has a lot of buds and I can wait for them to pop open! But they all are at least 2x as tall as they were last year! I think MIL moved some of the red ones in the retaining walls in the front of the house and put them around the base of the tree because it looks like they multiplied! I got these bulbs from Costco! _________________

I love looking at these landscaping threads! The lilies are beautiful! My mom has a green thumb and it skipped a generation cause I am clueless with planting flowers. I would like to learn some day so my house can look as nice as what you all are doing with your landscaping.
