| I guess I should properly introduce Polar: she is roughly two and half, with a very sweet personality. She loves people and get along with other dogs reasonably well. Her story started more than two years ago. I was living in China, freelancing as an outdoor guide, and starting a youth hostel with some friends. Our hostel was located in a small village on the southwestern plateau in China, fairly close to Tibet. One day my friends told me they found a stray dog in the village square, they thought she was a husky. We didn't know where she came from, our best guess was that some Chinese visitor drove there with a puppy for sightseeing, and she got lost from her owner. Since I've always loved northern breeds, I decided to take her in. This was Polar when we first found her. About a month later. We lived in a mountainous part of China, the elevation and climate is a bit similar to Colorado. Since I love the outdoors, Polar became my best hiking partner. I took her hiking all the time and she enjoyed it as much as I did. We'd just pick a trail or a hill we've never hiked before and go. Exploring and finding new places were all part of the fun. In 2010 I decided that I want to move back to the US with my then fiancee and get married. Naturally Polar was coming with us. While my fiancee was waiting for her visa to the US, I took on a summer job for Where There Be Dragons, a company based in Boulder, CO. They arranged for me to fly back to the US to attend their staff training, so I took that chance and brought Polar to the US with me. It wasn't too difficult getting her the required paperwork, but because the way the flights were connected, the whole trip ended up taking three days. And because I couldn't afford a night in the hotel on a guide's salary, Polar and I spent two nights in two different airports. I spent half a year letting Polar get used to her kennel. At the end, it became a little mobile house for her. Polar's last day in China, at the Beijing International Airport. Polar, along with two other pets, getting ready to board the plane in Beijing. Polar's first day in the US, at the LA International Airport. Pet rest area at the LA airport. Hunkering down for a night at the LA airport. Polar arriving in Orlando International Airport. I left Polar with my mom in Florida while I went back to China to work as a summer instructor. By the time I finished my job, my fiancee also got her visa, so both of us came back to the US last September and got married. But neither Polar or I were enjoying the weather in Florida, so I decided to fulfill a long time dream of mine: move to Colorado. My wife and I packed up in January and started driving. Here we are! Polar playing in Fleet Peeples park in Orlando, probably one of the best dog parks in the country. Packed up and ready to go! Entering Georgia. Tennessee. Kentucky. Missouri. Kansas. Finally, entering Colorado. Polar first time playing in snow in Colorado. |

| Welcome and what a great story! You made things happen so that you could take your dog with you, and I highly respect you for that in a world where people think huskies are disposable. Your love for her is evident - thank you for rescuing her! What a cute little world traveler! |

| Welcome! You've got quite the story, and Polar is beautiful _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword.
