| So, Koda just passed his 5th birthday in December... and I have to say I've noticed some incredible changes in him. I'm wondering what changes others have seen, but I just had to share this one. When we first got Koda, he was the LEAST dependent dog ever. He barely liked to be pet, let alone cuddled with. However, in his old age, he's changed. He's made it a tradition to sleep on the couch with me every evening. Tonight, he was so upset that Hailey had taken his spot, that he climbed up on the couch and laid down on top of her (similar to last month's HOTM submission). He sat there for a while, then turned around so that he could cuddle with me more. Sometimes too, when I work from home, I work from the couch. Koda must be sitting on the couch with me then too. He even waits for me to go to bed. John will come in and say "Bedtime" and his Hailey-girl will follow him in immediately. But Koda won't move unless I stand up to come to bed. He waits for me without fail. My little momma's boy just makes me melt _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| LOL, Kevin, I suppose so! I never would have thought Koda would turn out like this but even John said last night, "What got into this dog?!" _________________ www.itsahuskything.com It's a husky thing... you wouldn't understand. |

| I've seen similiar behavior in my 2 just recently!
We've had Storm for 10 months now, and just recently, he has been affectionate whereas before he was very independent. He'll now come running down to the basement where my office is set up and will keep me company, and he will now put his head in my lap when we're on the couch when he used to just lay on the couch in 'his' spot. He'll even lay on top of my feet if I'm sitting on the floor......He'll turn 7 in May.
With Ginger, she settled in faster than the 10 months that Storm took, and has always been 'my girl', but right before Storm started to show more affection, she started to get even more 'clingy' to me. I thought it was a little weird at first, and thought maybe she sensed something wrong (you know how sometimes dogs can sometimes sense an illness coming on or something?) but didn't think anything of it and tossed it off as a phase. However, she's hasn't gotten out of it yet. She never used to come down to the basement to my office if I'm working at my desk, but now does, and she never used to like being on the couch and she now gets on the couch to lay next to where I'm sitting. And if Storm is next to me, she'll get on the couch on the other side of me so she can be touching me....Ginger was adopted in August 2010 when she was about 3.5 yrs old, so she about 5 now.

| Awwww <3 Mya became more dependent with age actually! She used to sleep in bed with us, but now she starts off sleeping on the couch and then moves to her doggie bed in the middle of the night. In the mornings she jumps on the bed and attacks me with Kody to wake me up. If we go back to bed then she'll lay on my feet until we get up. She does still lay in front of the bathroom door sometimes while I shower or lays under my feet while I'm at the table on the laptop Kody, well, he's the most affectionate dog like ever! lol |
