I've read alot about how many of you stuff kongs with peanut butter, pumpkin, etc. but what size are you using? Should they be able to get their whole snout inside the hole? I'm just trying to visualize. I had bought Artemis a puppy Kong when I first got her but she didn't really show alot of interest. I'm thinking maybe it was so small that she couldn't get anything out of it so it wasn't worth the effort?

I bought the large Kong balls for my dogs and, though they initially just batted them a little and walked away, they now play with them far more than their other toys. And for longer periods of time. I wouldn't be discouraged yet.

I have the Red Classic Kong for Luna. I usually stuff it with her Orijen 6 Fish Kibble, 2 different types of treats and mix in the Kong peanut butter. After I've packed it in and I freeze it over night. She spends about an hour with it. She doesn't really chew it she just shoves her tongue inside and licks it the entire time haha.

Kale is almost 59 pounds and I have the size large red kongs. He doesn't chew them much just licks, so the black ones aren't a nessecity over here lol but if your pup licks to chew when eating out of them, I suggest the black ones.

I have always been afraid of getting kongs for my Husky as you can see above sometimes a dogs tongue gets stuck. Is this because its the wrong kong?? Are they too small? I would love to find something to entertain my Bob but wondering if any of this is true.
Thanks |

The opening to kales is too big for his tongue to get stuck... so id suggest sizing up if thats something that worries you.

The opening on ours is rather small but there is a hole in both ends... I would assume the holes in both ends prevent any suction from forming and causing a tongue to get stuck. I often wonder how Sabaka gets his tongue WAAAY down in there to get out every drop of yummy goodness that I put in it! I think the size is Large...
