| Well I think I'm seriously going t o try and organize a Husky Huddle/Malamute Mingle (HHMM). We have a dog park in the area that open last year not large but plenty big enough for the kidz to run and have fun. Besides getting the okay from the park people first I haven't a clue what, where and how to do it without embarrassing myself or kicking someones ass because they thought they would've done better.
So hints on what to do and not to do might make this a better experience for all involved. |

| Well if its the only park you can go to then i guess you could ask the park, i never ask... the best thing to do would be start a FB page for a HHMM in NY or your area and see if anyone finds it, and then spread the word that you have the page, local pet stores, running into people things like word of mouth. then wait to see, i found our back when there were less then 100 members, very small group, i miss that, its huge now. _________________ |

| Craigslist, pet supply stores and posting on rescue FB is how we got the majority of our members in the beginning. _________________ Force Free Training ThreadCheyenne, Mishka, Mickey, Rodeo, & Odin Are you a Husky owner in South Florida?! Join our facebook meetup group! |

| ^ Ditto. Plus stalking husky owners! lol. It's a lot easier now with my kennel club doing "meet the breed" events. Now they come to me! lol. And I tell them about the group. _________________ -Sara |

| I just organized an H2M2 around here. I started off with a meetup.com page (they charge the host of the page though), advertised on Craigslist, and posted signs at all the dog parks in the area. I also researched other parks in the area and set up at least a loose rotation, since my group covers a pretty decent area. I also just got a pack of business cards and made up a stack. Every time I go to a pet store, dog park, or anywhere else I might encounter Husky types I carry them and I generally wind up giving some out. We've grown pretty quickly as well. I know you don't have a facebook account, but if you have anyone else in your group, that's another good way to advertise. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I started a H2M2 here at the beginning of the month. I started it via FB and CL. We have gotten up to 28 members in literally 3 weeks. I would say start a FB or meetup.com first and then go from there.

| It is surprisingly not that hard I started my own group for Wisconsin Husky Owners, we have about 100 members now and we've only had the group really going for about 4 months. I friended a lot of breeders from Wisconsin and then posted on their walls about the group and had their puppy buyers joining. Also I posted the group on Craigslist. Also a lot of word of mouth at the dog park helps |
