| I have an appointment for the vet set up for Monday but I thought I might find some helpful advice here in the meantime. I had to board Snowflake for the first time Friday night. The kennel sent pictures of her playing with other dogs and she looked happy. According to the biz, she was fine Friday night. However, when they fed her today (Saturday morning) she had a limp. They could not explain what could have happened from the time they tucked her in to breakfast time. It does not appear to hurt nor are there any scratches or marks. She simply does not want or can't put wait on it. She is eating fine and tries to play still- just can't do as much.
Something similar happened before when she fell roughly on her hind quarters. She made a huge scene and was fine within 30 minutes, but this time she has been limping for hours. Thank you for your advice! |

| It's possible she just pulled something while playing and after sleeping and keeping still for the night, it stiffened and tightened up. I can't think of any other reason... Hope it's nothing! |

| How old is Snowflake? If you there is no explanation....I would get her hips Xrayed. I'm probably over paranoid since my first dog had Hip Dysplasia BUT Dakota had the same scenario. When he was young he slid on my kitchen foor and fell backwards. He limped for a bit but then it went away so I didn't take him to the vet. Over the years, I can remember a time or two Dakota had a limp but again it never lasted so I just never put two and two together. I just thought he played to rough at times. It wasn't until he was diagnosed with HP that it clicked in my mind that it was all related. Also, Dakota taught me that dogs don't always show they are in pain. You think they are fine but if you really look at them and see that something seems off...then it's better to get it checked out. It could be nothing but better to find out for sure. |

| Snowflake is 6 months old now. It is her front right leg that is bothering her this time. She still does not seem to be in pain (she is a pretty big baby) but she has been sleeping deeply since she got back. Obviously she did NOT sleep at the kennel. Poor baby. Probably nervous. We'll see how she does when she wakes up and takes a few steps. Its probably a good idea to let her rest. I did wonder about her spraining it and it then stiffening up over night. She is somewhat of a maniac and doesn't let things like that slow her down when other dogs are to be played with. |

| That's good it's not her hips. Like I said, I'm pretty paranoid about that now. Hopefully it's nothing and she will be fine. |
