Hi Group, first post

I've bought my two sibes harnesses and tug lines, but have been looking around for a cheap/used scooter to take them scootering. I was hoping to get the forums opinion on the Toucan 20. Has anyone here used one, or know someone who has? I just want to make sure it's a quality scooter before buying it, and wasting $200.

I've been checking every day. One was posted about a month ago, but was bought by the time I contacted the seller :-\.

The harnesses should be here in another week or two, so I'm starting to think that I won't find a good used one by then, hence why I've started to look into some newer ones. I know diggler is fairly well known, but their $200 scooter has a 160lb recommended weight, and I'm about 200. Next one up is $500 and def out of my price range.

The Toucan looks like a decent scooter especially with the 20 tires (smoother ride).

I had the Diggler Alpha Dawg which was rated in teeny tiny print with a maximum 160 pounds, I weighed in at about 195 lbs. at that time. I never once worried about it letting me down with my lard butt on it. It'll handle you no problem.

Have you tried bikejoiring? It's a great way to get them to pull and when they get tired you can help them out a little by peddling! I do it with my three dogs and a mountain bike that I got for free...can't beat free!

I agree with this. you can find good bikes just about anywhere!

Decided to go with a new Toucan 20. It came in a couple days ago and looks pretty nice. Only problem is that the place I bought my harnesses from have been extreeeemly slow. I ordered them 6 and a half weeks ago (Feb 12) , and they still haven't even shipped!

I emailed them 2.5 weeks ago and they said then they would ship within 2 weeks. I've tried emailing and calling a couple times this week with no response. By the time I get the gear in it will be 90 degrees outside and too hot to take the dogs out.

you should be getting them soon, mushing season is about over, and you can take them into the mountains to scooter

I don't know what stores are near you, but the JAX stores up here carry x-backs in stock ($25-ish I think). Some weight pulling and some straight pulling. But you've already spent the money I'm sure...

You may have to take several breaks, but i dont see it being "too hot". Its already in the low 90s here and we are outside everyday. Mind you, not doing hard work like bikejoring, but running or hiking the nautre trail. We do have to stop and give them water every 30minutes or so, but its still possible

Yeah, I've thought about canceling my order and ordering somewhere else, but that would be at least another 4 weeks of waiting, and as slow as the first place has been I find it hard to believe it will still be another 4 weeks.

Just venting my frustration.

That one of the nice things in the summer, a 2 mile walk and they are completely spent for the day. I really don't like taking them out if it's 85+, I might take them out on the scooter first thing in the morning for a mile or two or right around sunset if it's not too hot out.

Oh I wish! My huskies will go all day if I let them. Kya never gets tired. We will be out all day, come home and 10 minutes later she is running around the backyard like she has been in a crate all day!!

She prefers to stay out in the 100+ heat. I hate it bc she dives under the house and I cant pull her out to get her indoors.
