So Stormy is my first male husky and it has been over 15 years since I had a puppy. Stormy is almost a year old now and still barks like a little yorkie. I honestly can't remember if Shania and Shadow had this issue. Shania was always a talker even when she was 10 weeks old. What is your experience in the husky voice department? Am I doomed to have a 60 pound yapper forever?

Appa (only a year old) has a deep voice ... until he barks. His friend Willow (female lab mix 1 month older than Appa) has a way deeper bark than him.

When they actually bark, Demon's is quite a bit lower than Dakota's....not sure what to expect from Stormy. Sorry!

We have back to back classes where Stormy is crated during the puppy class. It is so embarrassing when people think it is the little terrier barking and the employees are like no that's the big husky in the crate

Oh boy. Appa's whine bark is indistinguishable from a little yapper. It's super high pitched ... and sad.

Biko is about 2 1/2 yrs now and I've recently noticed that his voice is finally getting deeper. Still sounds like a lil baby if his wants are extra urgent to him.

Like Riley was saying, there is a "whine bark" that is different than the real bark-because-someone-rang-the-doorbell bark, in my observations. Somewhere...book...?? web...?? I read that huskies have a "vice bark" that they use for attention and when they are playing or wanting to play. I tried to look up "vice bark"... I have no idea what it is... but I envision that yippy sound that I too find annoying and WAY less than manly!!

my first husky was like that too! Whether he was barking, whining, or howling he had a super high pitched voice! Indy on the other hand has a super deep voice, he always has. I guess it just depends on the dog!

Our Shania had a scarey bark when there was someone that she didn't trust approaching. I guess I can live with it as long as he stops doing it right in my ear.

When Nunya wants to play, his whines start really high and yappy, but he'll bark really deep when I ignore him. He gets very demanding and he sounds mean lol I think it sounds awkward when he barks, not like a normal dog
