I've been wanting a treadmill for my girls. It's almost always way too hot out to exercise them properly. Any thoughts about this one? _________________ -Sara |

| Looks like a great way to exercise a dog when the weather is bad, or it's too hot out I like how they can stop at will. |

| That's what I liked about it too. It's totally up to the dog about how fast to go.
I know I'm cheap, but I wonder if this is possible to make at home. My dad likes projects! lol. _________________ -Sara |

| There's a place online that sells plans for one for like, $10 or something. If you google "how to build a dog treadmill" it'll show up. I've been scouring CL for a used treadmill that's not $200 for a few months. My husband is very handy, so I'm considering having him build one. |

| I'm inclined to think since it isn't motorized most dogs if put on it would either just stand there or try to scoot off. |

There're videos of people having to use treats to get the dog to go and then there are videos of dogs running like crazy without treats! There's one of a corgi who's running like mad! I'll have to look up those plans on how to build one. Thanks! _________________ -Sara |

| I go on a different forum, and one of the other members was talking about how they had a hard time getting their dog on the treadmill at first, but after a while, they could just turn it on and she would burst into the room and jump right on it. After that, they tried her on a slate mill and she took to it really quickly. |
