I don't know about you all but I definitely spoil Luna. Every month Luna has new treats and new toys. I guess I kind of feel guilty leaving her home while I'm at work. Yesterday we bought her a new crate mat that actually fits pretty well with her large crate. Bought her matching Collar and Leash that are purple. Everyone keeps thinking she's a boy due to her Blue collar haha. What do you as Husky owners do to spoil your babies?

PostSubject: Re: Spoiling your Husky   Spoiling your Husky EmptyMon Feb 20, 2012 2:04 pm

Blaze gets new toys chew bones all the time. He has two dog beds one in the living room and one in the bedroom where he sleeps at night. I walk him at least once a day in warmer weather we manage to get two walks a day in. Lately we have been taking him once a week to the dog park which is about 30 minutes away.

My husband works from home and Blaze goes with me alot when I am making deliveries during the day so he really only get crated when we both leave the house.

Have you looked in a possibly doggie day cares for Luna a couple times a week while you are at work. ??

Bella gets new toys probably once every 3 weeks. She gets new things to chew on probably at least once a week (She just got a 20 dollar elk antler so hopefully I won't have to buy anything for awhile). She'll be getting a new Alpine Outfitters harness sometime soon. She's allowed to rule the furniture with an iron paw and she's even allowed to throw screaming fits at 3 in the morning for hours on end and no one will yell at her >.>. On snowy days and days when dad is home - we get to go to the dog park for an added bonus. She also gets a couple mile bike ride if it's not terribly cold (hot) outside but anything under 40 degrees it's not happening! She also gets weekly trips to the bank for treats and to go on car rides - she LOVES car rides.

Food wise she gets basically anything she wants X_X. Her favorite is her once a monthish Tuna Fish treat.

We spoil both of them. Every time we go to the store I am always looking at stuff to buy them. I just finished making Thor a jeweled collar. Thor being all white and fluffy he gets a lot of attention when we are out. So I made him a collar to prance around in. I will have to post a pic of it later.

Yes I think we all spoil our babies. I am constantly looking for different toys. He is always bringing me his ball for me to throw (as he loves playing fetch) but had to hide them as he is not allowed off the leash yet. I had bought him beds for his crate which he nicely destroyed in a flash. When I was originally looking at some at petsmart the saleslady ask the standard questions and made suggestions. When she asked what kind of dog I had she immediately said oh I think you should not buy a bed they are known to destroy them. And I bought one anyway it only took one day. Sad

Wow My Husky (Blaze) has not destroyed his beds

I made him two on in the living room and one for the bedroom (he sleeps in our room at night).

He likes them and does not tear at them..

How old is your Husky??

Blaze is about 1 1/2 years.

At our house we have four huge baskets of dog toys (2 upstairs, one on the main level, one in the basement). We go to the pet store at least twice a week and get new stuff to add to the collection of toys. Hayden gets to go in the car with me a good 85% of the time (which he LOVES!). I take Hayden to the dog park everyday (accept rainy days) and we walk every morning (if its ugly out, he goes on the treadmill). He gets special treats ALL the time and since I LOVE baking, he's my taste tester w/everything (accept chocolate). He's got a brand new Coach collar & matching leash we're waiting for him to grow into! When I'm not spoiling him, my sister and mom are too! He's also a local favorite around here, so everywhere we go he's getting treats and attention! Hayden has 2 crates, 4 soft beds, and full access to my bed (you would think he would like all that, but he prefers the hard cold floor).
He only gets the best food and gets his way with everything! His nickname is "brat", so that show's in itself how spoiled he is lol. He's such a monster I love you

Spoiling your Husky Empty
PostSubject: Re: Spoiling your Husky   Spoiling your Husky EmptyFri Feb 24, 2012 10:52 am

Bob turned one year in December I got him from a rescue group in August. I forgot to mention he only destroys the beds in his crates. I even tried blankets and he rips them. So now there is nothing in the crate. He sleeps at night on my bed or on the carpet in the family room. I think he must be getting bored when he is crated although he is only in there a couple of hours a day. But then thinking back at what he went through when the previous owner had him locked up in a crate for days while she went on vacation with the broken hip and no food or water in the back yard might have something to do with it. During the weekend he goes in the crate and sleeps on his own with of course the door open at the same time he would normally be in there during the week.

SPOILED!!! Is there a word that is more than spoiled, cause that is what our babies are. LOL
There is more dog treats and toys in the cart than stuff for me. Libby as well has a coach collar, I need to get one for Lucy yet. They never use their beds because they know they can lay on my bed or the couch, whatever they want.
Lucy still is in the crate when I am not home, cause she is at the destroying everything puppy stage.
WE LOVE OUR FURBABIES THOUGH!!!

Poor Bob! Sad Thank God you have him now, so you can spoil him the way he deserves to be treated!

I posted in another thread about hitting up the fabric store and getting some fleece fabric and using that as a blanket! It's much cheaper than buying blankets and works the same way Smile
You're local Wal-Mart may have a fabric section as well.

Amen to that!!!! Seriously, if I spent the amount of money that I do on them on myself I would have an awesome wardrobe!

I'm not even going to list everything that they get and that I do for them because I'll be typing for a while lol!

Kale's the same way, he loves his bed in the living room, but when I put one in his crate it'll be shredded by the time I come home LOL And what's even funnier is that he only chews on the bedding, I can put nylabones, real bones, toys, etc and he won't touch them, just the bedding.
