Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

Wasn't really sure where to post this hope it's in the right spot ha but was wondering if it would be a good idea to take Cyrus to the dog park before his first obedience class tonight to tire him out a litle bit or will that just have hime even more hyper than normal haha any input would be very much appreciated Smile

That's cheating!!! lol.

Just be sure not to tire him out too much or he won't want to listen in class, but it's a good idea. A lot of people wear out their huskies before going into the show ring, so they don't make fools of themselves. lol. And I hear wearing out your husky before taking a CGC test helps out too.

We try to wear ours out, and feed a half ration before the class instead of the whole meal, to make sure they're treat driven.

i could feed Luka twice his normal portion and he will still be treat driven lol, the guys a living food disposal unit!!

oops, forgot to comment on the question!
back on topic: thats probably a good idea yes, but when mine gets properly tired, he won't even sit up lol, he'll just sleep so its probably good within reason.

I just finished with CGC classes with Biko and I always took him for a 20 minute walk before hand and fed him his dinner about an hour before leaving home for classes. One night I skipped his feeding thinking it would work out better, bad move it was his worst night of the bunch.

I agree with replies, tiring a dog out a little before would be good. I do it with Cali b4 petsmart trips
