| What are you feeding him? It might take longer than a couple months to effect the fur, I think I remember you saying you feed raw, I could be mistaken though. To me, it almost looks like he was shaved in the past, and the undercoat has grown back, but not the outer. Can you differentiate between the guard hairs and the undercoat, or does it all looks the same? |

| It does look like his fur was shaved - good catch, Jen.
Try adding some fish oil or grizzly salmon oil in his food. http://www.amazon.com/Grizzly-All-Natural-Supplement-Pump-Bottle-Dispenser/dp/B0002AB9FS
I haven't used either but it will definitely put some shine and nutrients into the coat. It could possibly take up to a few months, be patient. If you're feeding him raw, that's the best that he can get right now! |

| I think if he was shaved it can take a couple of years for it to come back and it might never be totally normal. It's sad to see a shaved husky, but thankfully he's in good hands now! |

| How old is Baxter? That kinda looks and sounds like puppy fluff- it can take upwards of a year or more for all the puppy coat to drop. I'm dealing with the same thing with my red girl Enya. |

| Puppy coat is thin and wispy- that seems to be what you are describing. TOTW is an excellent food, there is little need for supplements on premium diets. Vitamin E or some fish oil won't hurt but don't be surprised a total transformation until he drops puppy fluff. |

| Makes total sense! I didn't realize he was so young. Glad he hasn't been shaved. I'm sure he'll be gorgeous when his adult coat comes in. |

| Try Wholistic Canine Complete - a bit pricier than many but a fantastic supplement and you won't have to measure our all the different vitamins. It should do the trick. Just as Lani said, they get into a transition period and their coats often look very odd. Just supplement and you should be fine |

| freyas coat was a bit dull before and skin was flaky so i started giving her mackerel twice a week but i guess any kind of oily fish or fish oil supplement will help with the condition but it will take a few months before you start seeing any improvement. |

| I used salmon oil for Dakota when she was having dry skin when I first got her, and it made her skin better but it also made her coat smooth and shiny, maybe that will help... I put it in her food with 1 meal a day. |

| For anyone who feeds Salmon oil or fish oil you need to please supplement with Vitamin E - natural vitamin E not the man made stuff. Fish oils naturally deplete Vitamin E from the body over time and we all need vitamin E to keep our immune system running smoothly I give 400 I.U. Every few days - i used to do every other day, but more research has come out that you only need to give once or twice a week. |

| No coconut oil is different, but I'd still give E. I think vitamin E is a wonderful vitamin. |

| I give a variety of crap for overall, coat and joint health. Coconut Oil, Salmon Oil and Vitamin E are staples in both my dogs diets - Delilah gets a lot of special ones for her back problem. |

| Right now i'm giving coconut oil one day and ACV the next and then repeat. So how should i work Vitamin E oil in there? I don't want to overload them with stuff. |

I give 400 I.U. Every few days - i used to do every other day, but more research has come out that you only need to give once or twice a week. What is 400 I.U. equal to in maybe cups or tablespoon/teaspoon? I have some Vitamin E-Oil and want to start giving them it once a week, but not sure if it should go be weight of dog and how much to give per day? I have 22 pounds, 34 pounds, and 46 pounds for their weights. |

| Do not feed vitamin E oil - it way too potent. Purchase 400 I.U. or 200 I.U. Capsules and just feed them as is or squeeze onto food.
You won't over load them. I give coconut oil and salmon oil alternating days and give vitamin E every other so it's always fed with an oil. |
