| Hello All,
Been a Husky owner for a total of 8 Months and loving it!
I have a 11 Month old girl named Luna. She's about 40+lbs now.
I have a few questions to ask you all if you don't mind. When do Huskies become fully grown? I've read that they reach maximum height around 1 year and then fill out till 18months. Also what thickness collar did you all purchase? I'm trying to pick out a new collar for her birthday but can't decide if i want to go with a 1" or 1.5" collar. Also what do you all think about Martingale Collars? She doesn't pull while we walk but if she see's a squirrel or rabbit forget about it her eyes are locked. Doesn't really try to run off but they have her full attention.

| Welcome! I love Luna's mask!
That second picture you posted, she looks very proportionally similar to my girl. As far as the growth goes, from what I've read they hit one more little growth spurt between 15-18 months, and then they fill all the way out around 2 years.
We have a 3/4" collar, but we use harnesses for walking. That helps keep her from pulling, plus we've worked a lot on "heel" during obedience training. That being said, she still pulls some if she sees something of interest. We've never used a martingale, but I know several people on the forum do. _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I currently use a 1" Collar when walking her. Working on heel every morning and night but she still hasn't gotten it yet. Trying to get all her attention on me but I swear she has a severe case of ADD! I'm curious to know what a 1.5" would look like on a husky. If someone can post a pic that would be perfect. |

| My son would love a Husky but he is living in a house with 3 other roommates. He also doesn't have time to spend with one. Hopefully when he finishes and gets in PHd he can get one.

| It could be tough going to school full time. Especially having roommates that might not follow your pup "rules". I manage to walk Luna at 6:30am and again at 8pm everyday for about 30-40 min each session. I go to work full-time and am a part-time student. I learned the hard way after she tore up 3 couches. She still nibbles at one of the couches. But that's the one she's already tore up. She hasn't chewed anything new in about 3-4 months (Thank the heavens) |

| I use harnesses to walk the dogs and rolled leather collars to hold their tags. Flat collars tend to mess up their coats. My Pit mix does use a 3/4 inch flat collar however. |

| I've read that people have damaged their dog's trachea's?!?! Is it because they are yanking the crap out of the leash? Luna knows when to pay attention with a simple tug (unless there is a rabbit or squirrel around lol) |

| Welcome! i think the ruffwear collars are 1" that we have. the Martingale Collars are great for walking since they have some give but will not break with a tough pull. i have had great luck with the RW collars and wear, they hold up! i use a prong pinch collar on our boy for walks and just the collar for our girl. _________________ |

| I just went to the RuffWear website and they have some pretty neat products! I think I am going to purchase my Collar from there. I think Luna does pretty well on the leash. If she see's any animal she doesn't try to pull me anywhere. She just stares and walks in the same direction as me.
Also what do you think about this leash!?!? Pretty neat!! http://www.ruffwear.com/The-Roamer-Leash-trade_5?sc=2&category=15 |

| the leash is not bad, i like the clip on the handle, but i don't thing the bungee is super strong for a strong puller, your still going to be tugged but it will not be so bad. we have one of the other leashes for sierra and as much as jack has chewed on it its still working well and they are light weight _________________ |
