Anyone use these for their dogs and if so do you have recommendations? 2 of my boys love running water from the hose or faucet. Not so concerned with our water quality (filtration) as we have a very high rated municipal water source but want to up their consumption for overall health. Thoughts?

I have a Drinkwell Big Dog Pet Fountain for Navi and Drogo and they love it! You hear running water all the time so if that noise bothers you I wouldn't recommend it. My only complaint is that it can be a pain to clean and you need to do it often to avoid nasty buildup on the inside, so 1-2 times a week. They do sell models that have stainless steel parts; those might be easier to keep clean.

I have the Drinkwell Big Dog too and its awesome - although it can definitely be a pain to clean. Its dishwasher safe, so it wouldn't be bad to clean that way. But I don't have a dishwasher,so...

Thanks ladies! With 3 the standing water gets gross every day and I just don't think they are drinking enough.

According to their site, everything is dishwasher safe except for the big reservoir that goes on the back. If you're thinking of getting one, I'd also get some filters. They're like $6-7on amazon for a pack of 3 filters. I thought it was kinda dumb and didn't use filters for the first year that we had ours, but then I decided to try it and the fountain stays so much cleaner! I don't have to take it apart and scrub it nearly as often with the filters |

I don't even wanna know how quickly that thing gets dirty without a filter. I'm still cleaning it at least once or twice a week with a filter in there!

The little one I had for the cat didn't seem to get icky and I never used the filter. The big one is great...except that the pups decided to eat the lid. So now Stormy drinks out of the top while Sollie drinks from the bottom.
