| hi my name is Katie This is Raven, my rotten husky puppy that i adore. My husband and I decided that we were ready to get a dog. My daughter who is 8 said she wanted a sled dog, apparently she had a in classroom project about the Iditarod and fell in love with the pretty dogs with their beautiful blue eyes. I began researching everything I could find about Sibes and Malamutes. I wanted a dog that was friendly with other dogs and wasn't territorial. I have kids coming and going from my house and my main concern was their safety. When I was little we had a lab that was a complete nut and no one could come to my house. Much to my surprise a husky sounded like a good fit. We went about trying to adopt at first but since our yard isn't fenced and my children are young we got stonewalled. We bought Raven from a breeder. We are thrilled with Raven and her stubborn husky ways, except for the mouthing and nipping. If anyone lives near the Chain of Lakes in Illinois i would love to meet up a give her some playtime with another Husky! |

| welcome! Raven is beautiful! Is Chain of Lakes in Aurora? You live about 2 1/5 hours north of me. I think Melissa (Luka and Kitty's) might be close to you and possibly Christine (Libby and Lucy). Maybe we can set up a Northern Il meet up in the near future. I would do the 2.5 hour drive if we can get everyone to go... |

| Mindy,
I would love to get together and we could meet you halfway. We could host but we dont have a fenced in yard. There are two off leash parks near here and a lot of forest preserves. My husband suggested Pratt Wayne Woods in the town of Wayne if you wanted to meet halfway. |

| Welcome! We live in illinois too, but not sure where we are in relation to your location. I just moved here from wisconsin six months ago so I'm still not familiar with the area. I live in Moline. A northern il meetup would be fun! |

I don't have a fenced in yard either. We should definatly try for a meet up with Christine and Melissa in the near future and I can just come up North to meet you all! |

| Welcome! I grew up in Urbana and my parents live in Shorewood now, which is near Plainfield and Joliet. We drive up there from time to time with the dogs, and would definitely be game for a meet up the next time we are up there.
Raven is absolutely adorable as well! _________________ Shadow's Blog Canine Hydrocephalus Support on Facebook "Being the parent of a special-needs pet means living your life constantly poised on the edge of a double-edged sword. | I feel you on the lab situation! My parents had rottweilers from the time I was about 11-now. And it's is a pain in the booty! No one could ever come to our house! Even now, we have to "let the dogs smell us" until "they are comfortable". So, I told my Mom, forget it, you can come see us now! We were desperate for a husky too! We also have small children, so we knew adoption was way out of the question. And I get it! So, we got both of our pups from breeders. I LOVE Katie's mask!!! She is adorable, you must start a Scrapbook for her here on the forum! Welcome and I hope you find some wonderful people to meet up with! We are in Florida |
