Forum Rules
1. Here we prefer clarity to agreement. Obviously not everyone is going to agree on a topic; here we prefer to talk out our differences in a respectful manner to ensure mutual understanding and respect.
2. Read the Stickies and Announcements. Each sub-forum may have specific rules which trump the Forum Rules in cases where there may be conflicting information. Read the rules of each board before you post so that you are clear on the expectations of the staff.
3. Respect ALL Staff and Admins. These people volunteer of their time and MUST be respected as well as their word adhered to. They are responsible for maintaining a free, open, clear and organized forum. Anyone found to be openly undermining any official ruling by a staff member will be warned.
4. Signatures: One picture only and no links. Images: To keep the forum looking neat and tidy, we ask that members insert just one picture only in their signatures. The picture should be no more than 200x500 pixels and should be of an appropriate subject, for example, your dogs and their names. Should you need assistance creating an appropriate signature, please PM an Admin and we would be happy to help! This is to ensure that signatures remain a welcome addition to our forum instead of a cumbersome distraction. Links: Hyperlinks in signatures--unless to a personal blog or photo stream of your dogs (like Flckr or Piscasa, for example)--are strictly prohibited. Please PM a staff member with any questions or concerns regarding this rule.

PostSubject: Husky in VA   Husky in VA EmptyMon Dec 26, 2011 2:50 am

Hello everyone! My name is Kelly and I wanted to introduce myself and my new little man Hayden! Hayden is 8 weeks (born 10/23/2011) and we picked him up from his breeder last Wednesday! Hayden is my first Husky and I've already learned Huskies and very different than any other breed of dog I've ever known! They are completely in a class of their own (good & bad) lol. For the short few day's we've had Hayden we have realized how much he looooves to chew on anything and everything!! He is very dominating towards my other dogs (we're trying to work on that! He's already tried humping my 7 year old female Dalmatian!), has severe separation anxiety, Hayden doesn't bark- he has more of a high pitch scream/bark/howling mix going on lol. He loves to run and can see why everyone say's not to let them off leash w/out a fenced yard! Thankfully my yard is fully fenced! Hayden is super smart and already has learned sit! We're working on crate training, but every time we put him in there he does his death cry and one of the family members will go get him out and baby him, so it's a little challenging right now.
We have so many pictures, it's going to be hard to pick just one, so I'll post a few of my big boy! Smile
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!Husky in VA 403099_349891811694875_100000221767487_1686503_1871962826_nHusky in VA 406812_350148668335856_100000221767487_1687368_1695315127_nHusky in VA 395098_348586835158706_100000221767487_1681922_1966741388_nHusky in VA 399816_349891405028249_100000221767487_1686502_1272269033_n

Thank you everyone Smile

Kim- He can be very naughty! I'm trying to set "rules" for him now, but he seems to be wanting to set his own as well, lol.

Crystal- He was actually howling in that picture haha. He was in the middle of having one of his separation anxiety fits, which involves him howling like crazy and I couldn't pass up on a picture moment. Smile

Oh my goodness he's just too cute!!! Get ready for a long, challenging, but AWESOME ride with your baby boy. They're SO smart. Sometimes not for their own good...LOL. Just be consistent with him and everything will work out.

Welcome and I look forward to watching him grow! I love you

thanks everyone for the welcome! yeah he's being a bit challenging right now haha ...
he's starting to "test" his boundaries. today Hayden decided he was going to snap at me (not in a playful manner) when i corrected him about playing too roughly with my moms 2 pound yorkie. he got time out in his crate for a little while for that one! then we did dishes together Smile pic follows hehe. he's huge for only 8 weeks!Husky in VA 384768_352906244726765_100000221767487_1701031_277389574_n
