Howl there, I thought I'd introduce myself a bit. A few of you might remember me through Sitka. I'm gonna have to play around this forum before I can officially declare myself a computer geek. I'll probably be as silly as I have been with my tennis ball that I play with like a kitten though!

Anyway I'm a 1-year-old Siberian Husky/German Shepard mix who was adopted just yesterday. It was like love at first sight and I warmed up right away. While I hope my buddy gets a home, I was glad that she was far off my adoptor's mind so that I could go home with her. I reminded her of a miniature German Shepard that she grew up with. Even though I am petite, she saw what a big heart that I have and that it helps to have some husky in my blood! I love my new name Gunny. I always despited being named after a beer, Guinness, so I'm thankful to be called Gunny now. I can also brag that I don't shed as much as a regular Husky! My fur is so silky soft that you'd be jealous of me.

By the way I wanted to mention that I tried my new peanut toothpaste before my nap and it is awesome! You gotta try it! Get rid of that doggy breath!!

Had to wrestle with Gunny for the laptop... Just like how he wouldn't let me make my bed this morning! Everytime I went back to my room to make it he'd jump on it.

Seriously try the peanut toothpaste! I have already introduced it to Gunny and may start using the toothbrush tomorrow. I am gonna post this somewhere else on the forum... I've heard of too many pets with rotting teeth and would hate to see your dogs suffer from that!

Welcome to the forum And I MUST see pictures of Gunny soon! Is it supposed to be shorter version of Gunner? I had a horse named Gunner. He was cool.

Still trying to figure out this thing... My power went out for a while so my internet access was gone during that time. In the meantime Gunny and I took a nap on the couch together until the power came back on. I'm trying to post a picture of Gunny sleeping on his back here. So far I was able to change my avatar but I'm not able to post pictures in my message body. I actually had to fix my router since the power outage screwed it up, now that I could do, but for some reason I cannot post pictures in this message body!! Grrr...

I decided to go with "Gunny" because it was close to his previous name and he was responding to it. Chad's dad also thought it was a cool name. Other choices included: Caramel, Lieby (Chad did NOT like this one), Gus (Chad's idea), Gunny... I already have his tag engraved with "Gunny". I have a girlfriend whose dog is named "Gunny" so hopefully she doesn't kill me for copying her although it wasn't my intention!

Chad had sent me pictures of him too, so I've seen him before. But since I haven't told you he's incredibly handsome! I love love love his look!

To post pictures in the thread, look above the place where you write your reply and click on the button that has a picture on it. It will pop out a little box with a chain, a blank and an okay button. Paste the url (the link to the picture) into the box and click okay. That should embed the picture into the post.

What site are you using for pictures? Photobucket works great. I find that google's picasa doesn't always host the pictures well. I hope this helps!

I think Chad's parents wish they had listened to him when he first told them about Gunny. I fell in love with him right away and was so scared that if I didn't take him right away someone else would. So glad I brought him home!

For a few I thought maybe I should have named him Gunner, but now that I think about it Gunny suits him perfectly since he jumps like a bunny!

That's the husky in him! They're very bouncy. Actually, huskies used to be thrown into Pitbull fighting rings during intermissions because they were the only breed who were quick enough and agile enough to avoid getting trapped and killed by the Pits. Koda today smelled something that frightened him and jumped 4 feet back and 2 feet in the air from all fours in a millisecond! It was ridiculous!

I laughed at your story about Koda making a sudden jump like that! Does he play with a tennis ball like a cat? OMG Gunny just let out a nasty gas! Guess that means he is officially comfortable with me now!

Oh we call Koda our "little kitty" because he chases a laser pointer up walls like a cat and plays with tennis balls like a cat. He's totally a cat at heart. LOL.

Oh, he can definitely handle Ruger! Being quick and tiny helps. It's done me darn good, being petite and growing up with 3 brothers.
